    Just scanning through results elsewhere and happened across the Roma bench… and what a bench it would have to be to house all 16(!) substitutes That can’t be right, surely? Tammy in amongst it and a certain Keinan on the Udinese bench too.

    Plus Tielemans, what a signing he’s been. The two loanees as well, Lenglet has been great for us, fits perfectly with our style and is as good as you can get for a fourth choice CB. And Zaniolo has been decent at times, well worth us having a look at him on loan.

    I can’t help but feel Liverpool are on the cusp of a good few average seasons. They’re doing their best to mess up their title bid, Klopp’s off along with Salah and probably a good few more, the likes of VVD and Robertson etc… no guarantee the new manager will have them performing at the top. I see an opportunity for Villa to muscle in here.

    I have kept away from this thread so far, for a few reasons. I’m still very much focused on enjoying the end to this season, I’m not that up to date on emerging global talent these days, and the third and probably best reason is that I don’t care who we sign any more. I no longer know better than the manager, and I have total faith that Emery and Monchi will find us the players to make us even better. Feels weird but it’s kind of relaxing to know it’s all in hand.

    Chelsea are so inconsistent, sometimes they show a lot of potential and some great, technical link up play, other times they just look a pile of wank. I wonder if they’ll try to tighten the defence on Saturday after this. Dunno but we really need to go at them on Saturday, Bailey, Watkins, Rogers and Diaby could have a field day.

    He’s simply amazing! The best in the league this season imho.

    He’s a really likeable lad who always puts a shift in but he’s definitely someone we will need to improve on if we’re to be playing at Champions league level. I’d keep him in the squad though, because he is a very useful player. Those thrown ins have more distance on them than most ‘Prize Where It Lies’ contestant attempts.

    It’s turned into a nice weekend of football, Villa win again, small heath in the bottom three and manure’s ‘3-0 up and you f*****d it up’, could have done with a spurs loss in there too but that will have to wait for next weekend.

    Just the kind of performance and result we all wanted. Watkins, Konsa, Martinez, Rodgers, Bailey and Diaby all excellent. We looked like we might be struggling after the penalty but kept to the plan and scored our way back into it. This team doesn’t quit, and I firmly believe we are keeping this fourth place.
