  1. ^ That's shocking. I'm not even sure what it is they meant.
  2. Hey Jude at number 1 then I take it? How boringly predictable. I hardly ever watch itv, and generally avoid any show that has the words "nation" or "favourite" in the title. It isn't surprising that people like Bohemian Rhapsody and Dancing Queen or whatever else itv asks the general public to vote for. Yesterday and hey jude occupying the top spots, blimey John wouldn't be happy with that. Most of the best ones weren't singles anyway.
  3. Funny episode, but I expected nothing less. Particularly liked the Grand Designs line.
  4. He's a good player and in the grand scheme of things, probably not a total clearing in the woods. But the most noteworthy/memorable thing he ever did for us was the way he left. The winner in the semi final comes a distant second. There's a fair chance that in years to come, when (if) the name Fabian Delph is mentioned amongst football fans, the first thing that will be brought up is the U turn. It is unlikely it'll be his major involvement in a title winning side. I mean, I find myself defending Milner's contribution to city's success to my idiot mates, and for me, Delph is not, nor will he ever be, as good as Milner.
  5. Good article. Would like to think 'Arry read it, my only hope is the name "Fourfourtwo" would sound reassuringly familiar to him, oranges at half time, jumpers for goal posts, that kind of thing. It's as if he's permanently staying on message that English/British know best, we invented the bloody game, 1966 and all that. Foreigners dive, don't you know!? Growing up I had something approaching respect for him, he was at West Ham and he seemed to be doing a solid job. Since then he really does seem like a parody of mike bassett. Anyway, I'm glad that common sense seems to be prevailing about the sacking of Sherwood across the media.
  6. That MoTD extra show on Sunday afternoon that CED mentions is quite good and it does benefit from having a mixture of former players and writers. My only gripe with that show is that because it's also on Radio 5live, they don't show any highlights. So they can discuss at length an incident that may have occurred on the Saturday but because listeners can't see it they've decided to level the playing field and not show it at all. They could replay an incident or a goal and talk over it so listeners don't have to listen to the commentary. Ruins an otherwise decent show. That's my "points of view" rant over.
  7. Yep, just read it was 34 out 35 passes completed, the highest from anyone on the pitch. Coupled with Gil having more touches than anyone else once he came on against Spurs last week, would suggest he's going to be such a vital player for us.
  8. I'm calling it. Ashley Westwood is the most influential player ever on VT. He was never gonna play today and yet he's been in one of the most talked about threads whenever I've checked in tonight. Do I think we missed him today? I'd say no. Am I glad he's a villa player? Yes I am.
  9. I thought Amavi had a decent game defensively. I agree he's currently better going forward, but I think today he was more robust than previous games.
  10. Much better, that result feels a bit like that west ham win a few years ago under lambert, by which I mean it feels more valuable than just a point. Considering who we were up against, it was a fantastic performance. Hopefully the forwards will have more going for them against weaker opposition. Regarding rudy, Hart could have just left it. Would have amounted to much the same. The whole incident was a bit dodgy for me. Oh and hope you enjoyed your little runabout Fabian which was graciously given to you. You were non-descript. Off to the reserves with you. Good work lads and Remi!
  11. I'm waiting at least until after we lose tomorrow afternoon before getting down in the mouth about it. Seems only fair. These Saturdays off have been lovely.
  12. "I'm whizzing with the door open.....and I love it!!!!!"
  13. Interviewer already trying to create some rift regarding transfer methods, they've got their angle sorted anyway. Glad he took care of that question effortlessly. Very good video, encouraged further by that. Oh and bonus points for the inclusion of Ms Gallacher too.
  14. I can't recall if I read it on here as well but when Lambert was sacked I remember hearing an interview with Peter Withe basically saying he and Brian Little have offered to help the club out for free but it was never taken up. I've no idea how effective it would be, but I find it a little disappointing that the offer of their experience was not considered potentially valuable by the club, in whatever capacity.
  15. Good interview. Total contrast to the "**** me, a gilet joke!" we had last time (which I must admit I liked). Not too fussed that it's Man City for his first game, expectations will/should be lower. As long as there's something approaching a decent game plan and (maybe asking for the moon on a stick here) we actually use the majority of our best players at the same time, I'll be content. But three points really would be nice.
  16. For those who didn't see the spurs first goal. Restraint, thy name be Dean.....
  17. There's a place for him in the match day squad. For me, at the moment, he's behind Ayew, but ahead of Gabby in the pecking order of our "fast forwards".
  18. We've been crying out for a player like him for years, we finally get him (at a bargain price), he plays lovely football, he scores our goal of the season then he's frozen out of the team because we were in a relegation battle and it makes sense to not play one of our best players. Then in the summer, he's told he'll be part of the set up, plays lovely football, he scores our best goal of the season so far (again), then in this year's relegation battle he gets selected to start sporadically or just subbed on when we're chasing the game. Truly amazing. And he still comes across as having one of the best attitudes at the club.
  19. Remi Garde - Aston Villa manager. Sont les mots qui vont très bien ensemble. Très bien ensemble (hopefully). Welcome Remi. Please save us. Thank you.
  20. Although I wouldn't put him last of the Lerner managers, I would say Lambert was the biggest disappointment. Didn't Norwich score the most goals outside of the top six in their first season back with him? Really thought that he was gonna turn out to be a terrific boss for us.
  21. I don't see it as a gamble at all. Remi will easily find another job if this all goes tits up.
