Really happy with the business done so far, feels like the best window we've had in years (at the moment anyway, time will tell). Am I right in thinking if we sign Veretout for around £8m and Gestede for £6m that we've roughly broken even net spend wise?

I thought he looked alright in his little cameo last night. Fairly lively. Hopefully he will get more time against forest, which after gabby's knock, I would imagine is likely.

I'm feeling more positive on this than previously. If he can chip in with around 10 goals and his wages aren't completely off the scale, I'll be happy. As for good players who we signed in their thirties, he may not be the most recent example, but merson was 30 when we signed him I believe.

Westwood was good tonight, don't remember him doing much wrong. Him and Gueye linked up well. He's never gonna win over everyone, he's not gonna win MOTM often either. But he's a good player, one of our more consistent players. There are certainly other players that are a much greater concern.

Is the berbatov link to ensure we'd all rather wish we're on board with adebayor signing, comparatively speaking?

General musings. Bunn looked decent, great save (from the shot ruled offside). Clark/Richards making glaring errors which should have led to goals, on the flip side, both made some great interceptions & challenges. A better team would have finished us off. Amavi was terrific first half, in the second we seemed swamped down that flank. Like the look of him though. Westwood and Gueye were good in the centre, seem to link up well. Thought Sinclair looked good in the first half, although I agree he does run down these blind alleys. Happy with Kozak's two goals. He'll be a useful player for us. Too early to say on Ayew, some decent touches and looked a bit of a terrier. These late goals need addressing. I know they're an integral part of our game, but I'd rather not have them. Fair result.

Apologies if already suggested, but will we be nicking the old petit chant for Adebayor? He's quick, He's slick, His names' a porno flick Emmanuel, Emmanuel (assuming the name change to Jordan doesn't take place)

Agree. I would be disappointed if we did change the name. However, didn't Fox say earlier in the year it wouldn't make sense from a sponsor's point of view? Trying to rename something that is already historically established. Although he could have been talking about the Holte End, but surely the same would apply to the ground. In my opinion, one of the most valuable assets Villa has (and one of the reasons I love them), is the strong historical significance the club has and I feel the name of the ground is part of it. It's surely worth more than a potential sponsor fee.

Alongside the more experienced Vlaar, Clark seemed to play like a mistake was not too far away. Alongside a more junior partner in Okore, the added responsibility he had seemed to improve his game massively. He'll still make the odd mistake, of course he will, but IMO he's gone from one of the first names I wanted to offload to one of the first names on the team sheet for me. His considerable improvement has made me try to be a bit more rational and patient about players before I write them off. I hope he continues to be a solid player for us.

Not sure if I'm honest, it would be a total guess but I'd say the just the corner. I'm sat in the lower Steve Bull, just past the halfway line, towards the Jack Hayward stand. Would suggest we've got the whole lower steve bull so I would be surprised if we had the lower stan cullis too.

Welcome Jordan! He's said some nice words. Have not heard of him before we were linked, but for me, that's true of most players. Looking forward to seeing what he can do. Thirteen goals in a relegation threatened side is decent. Could be pure speculation but there were possibly some suggestion Everton were interested as well. Probably paper talk. Would be typical if he did turn out to be our best player after years of struggle in that position, only for us to appear weaker elsewhere in the team.

Considering he was £3m and his wages weren't quite N'Zogbia levels, I think Ron was overall a decent signing. It seemed his head was turned a bit after the World Cup and similar to Benteke he probably didn't fancy another season possibly battling relegation. I don't blame Benteke for that so I can't blame Vlaar either. It looks like he won't get the move he wanted, but I wish him well with his recovery and hopefully has a few more years left in him playing at a decent level.
