  1. Bloody BBC website. "Tim Sherwood: Was Aston Villa sacking deserved?" 10 defeats out of the past 12 league matches. Yes, it was deserved. I'd love to know how many games he had to lose before they decided his media persona was outweighed by performance. I also like how there's this constant view of "well, this is what happens when you sell your best players in Benteke, Delph and Cleverly", as if we made the silly decision to off load them. Whenever they mention Vlaar as well, they seem to think we lost the World Cup Vlaar rather than a player who was laughably injury prone and made some costly errors in his final year (when he did play). They seem to champion the fact Sherwood wanted more premier league experience in the squad but ignore his own limited time of management in this division or any other. Oh and Lescott wasn't a free transfer. Idiots.
  2. Picture from that second article. My word, he cuts a relaxed figure.
  3. Houllier had loads of premier league experience and that didn't end well for us. Not fussed in the slightest about his lack of premier league management.
  4. This is what Danny Murphy said today after the sacking- "We don't know exactly what's gone on with the recruitment of the players that have come in - ultimately too many of them haven't done well enough and are not good enough. Like all managers, he's responsible for that." So a bit of a dig at the players, I think that's to be expected. But the overall impression I got was he feels the buck stops with Sherwood. I like Murphy, the beeb's best pundit by a considerable margin.
  5. lol pun-tastic. I was trying to think of one along the lines of we'll need to on our Garde with this appointment, but I won't bother now!
  6. So Randy will have now paid out compensation to O'neill, Houllier, McLeish, Lambert and Sherwood (& Wilkins). And not forgetting small heath for McLeish's tenure. Anyone have an idea how much this has cost the club?
  7. If he goes down that avenue then fingers crossed he appoints Jet instead.
  8. Cheerio Tim. Thanks for the back to back wins against the baggies and the semi final win (the best performance I've seen from us in a long time). Best of luck.
  9. I'd actually consider someone quite 'old' if they played that song Ha! Yeah to be fair I think they were playing it ironically, which makes it worse.
  10. Ha! If i do the stranglers it's always "peaches". Currently playing "December 1963", always a crowd pleaser.
  11. That I wrestled back control of the jukebox in my local from the unruly youngsters.
  12. Young people taking over the jukebox. Currently playing Vengaboys "we're going to Ibiza".
  13. Alan Curbishley. Just because he never, ever gets linked to us. Would make a change if he was for once.
  14. Sorry Tim, but that's it from me. I did/do actually like him as a person, his enthusiasm is infectious. He did a job for us last season when we were in the mire. So for that, thanks. But his time is now up. We have decent players here who should be challenging higher up the table. The players are accountable up to a point, but the blame ultimately falls to Tim. Villa, put him and us out of our collective misery please.
  15. Obviously hoping for the best, but am fully expecting this to go pear shaped. Prove me wrong lads.
  16. Fair enough, those looks don't occur every time a stupid remark is made, that's an exaggeration on my part. But the episode I saw, it felt like every other scene culminated in one of the characters giving a dead pan look to the camera. Just found it a bit repetitive.
  17. My brother loves Parks & recreation. I gave it a try and while the cast are very good and it certainly has it's moments, I got a bit tired of those little looks to the camera which occur after someone has said something stupid. Those sly glances to suggest "Gee, is it just me? Get a load of this crazy guy!".
  18. I don't mind Adele. I haven't got anything by her but I'd rather listen to "Rolling in the deep" than anything the other darlings of the british music scene (Sam Smith, Ed Sheeran et all) have put out.
  19. Peter Kay routine, you say? https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=0hK8EbafSlg
  20. "The Last Kingdom" was pretty decent last night. Anglo-Saxons v the Danes. Think GoT with less nudity, no dragons but more historical context.
  21. Think this video sums up how some view the daily mail. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=5eBT6OSr1TI
  22. Yep, I watched about the first 9 episodes of the 4th season and it was probably the biggest decline in a sitcom I've seen. Couldn't be fussed to watch the rest. Ive got to 4 and am struggling find motivation for the rest of season but I suppose ill stick with it as a short season From reading elsewhere, it's not clear whether it's beneficial to binge watch the season or not. I watched the 8 or 9 I saw back to back. I wanted to see the Gob episode (which is ok, but I would still consider it a poor relation of previous brilliance). I heard that it all ties in during the final few episodes and the quality improves, but i didn't feel it would be worth it. Would be curious to hear what you thought of it once you got through it!
