  1. As said you can pay to top up. I've got an NUS card so always get a concession ticket. The turnstile beeps and a light flashes but I've not been questioned. I only make a few home games a season at best at the moment though.
  2. Slightly more recent than most things mentioned but remember my mate being really really stoned, transfixed watching this and sniggering every time the snake came up. He was watching it for ages, well it seemed like it I was likely a bit stoned too.
  3. I've been doing my part train part bike journey for nearly 4 weeks now and enjoying it, i'm getting up the hill I have to go up to work quicker too, its not any easier but it is quicker. The weather has been pretty friendly to me so far though, will see if i'm enjoying it when that changes. I'm only in town and city centres for a short bit and the roads aren't too bad, i'm not sure i'd enjoy it so much in the centre of Birmingham. Not had too many issues with drivers so far, apart from one dick in a transit the other day who over took me as i was passing a parked car on a narrow road in a village. It was in a 30 and I was probably doing best part of 30mph myself and it was clear after the car so not sure why he felt the urge to do it then.
  4. Can't remember when, probably uni but have been told Arial is the best for those with dyslexia. Again I have no idea other than being told that at least 10 years ago.
  5. She comes across as a horrible woman. The Justice for the 21 campaign had a run in with her at a protest, where she accused them of being in it for the money.
  6. The only secret Santa I've done was about 10 years ago. I bought a blues fan a Villa mug with his name on.
  7. I find it pretty amazing it doesn't get sung at games, home or away. It is often belted out in pubs before away games but has just never caught on in the ground apart from small pockets of fans occasionally.
  8. I've just moved to the country and already fed up with the smell of shit. While I'm sure the benefits of living here will outweigh the bad, but it really stinks.
  9. Moved in with my girlfriend who lives in the sticks. Can't afford a car till the new year so a bit of forced fitness it is. A 3 mile ride, 12 miles on the train and then another 2 miles, 1 of which is up a pretty steep hill. My first attempt up this hill shortly in 2 years, it's going to be a killer. Ideally I'd like to occasionally do the full trip to work on my bike. A little way off that though at the minute.
  10. 700000 might be a bit optimistic and one hell of a stadium. I'm not sure I'd fancy a seat towards the back.
  11. I was hopeful of Veretout being a great player for us. It hasn't worked out and probably won't. Nantes have always been the European team I follow since going on holiday most years to Western France. Early on in this thread I said that I hoped he didn't go the way of Berson and Djemba Djemba who both came from Nantes (via Man Utd in DD's case) but here we are. By all accounts he had a torrid start settling in, which has no doubt played a big part in him not being what we hoped. Something like that is just so hard to over come once it gets a hold. Hopefully he starts to enjoy his football and life again and fulfills some of his potential. I'd still like to see him back and give it another go, although I think there will only be the off chance of that.
  12. Just finished an 11 hour shift on what was supposed to be my day off. Wasn't going any further than my local shop so all I've got is some Stella to chill out with.
  13. Standard white sliced bread lightly spread with butter and a little bit of brown sauce. Someone at work keeps saying avocado goes well In a bacon sandwich. A couple of times i've made a butty and happened to have some avacado in, but can't bring myself to do it. Too easy to ruin one of life's simple pleasures.

    Burgers

The pub in the village I'm moving to soon do a great burger on a lovely soft cob, which was extremely enjoyable. I do quite like a brioche bun but it's got very boring that everywhere does them and you rarely get anything else.
  15. I never went to the game but remember going on a Villa Park tour with Kiddy Harriers which happened to be the day after that game. While I was at VP i bought a Villa bandana which I got signed by the man himself at bodymoor Heath a few weeks later. I've still got it somewhere.
  16. My parents were there last night. It wasn't long ago my dad said he'd never go to a musical. He's now seen Mamma Mia twice, Jersey boys, We will rock you and maybe another.
  17. Mine was 1991 last game of the season against Chelsea 2-2. Could remember it was Cascarino and a Platt penalty for us but had to check their scorers, Graham Stuart and Jason f*****g Cundy oh and Chelsea breaking our goal posts.
  18. As you say it never looks good on a player doing it and it is quite possible it happened but we don't know the full story and he wouldn't be the first owner to save face a bit to keep the fans on side. Unfortunately though I think it is a pretty common situation that happens a lot more than reported, it just depends on how bitter the dispute is to whether it's made public.
  19. It all depends, IF he was given a chance in pre season to show he cared about Aston Villa and convince RDM and Dr X. I personally think this was the case and it didn't happen. If this was the case then no, even if we were short of players to put 11 on the pitch, then he can f**k off as far as I'm concerned. There are a few ifs and maybe's in there which do make a difference and I would happily alter my opinion a bit on him. He may of lost a bit of weight but he was supposedly sent to train with the youngsters which to me means he didn't take his chance and they didn't want him around the team. It was a fresh start, new owners, new manager, a new team to be built, if he couldn't take his opportunity then he doesn't deserve any more chances.
  20. I've been all for giving him a chance over the years but I think that time is up. I may be wrong but I think he has been given chance with RDM I don't think the new regime have come in and given a blank we don't want you here from the outset. For whatever reason Gabby hasn't shown that he is willing to change/improve or put in the effort wanted from him.
  21. Going on from my post in Tony Xia thread. In the normal workplace you would build a case for potential dismissal. Football is a different beast but in theory the same laws apply. I guess it needs one club to have the bollocks to go for it and dismiss a player for poor performance over a set period and then of course they'd need to win the inevitable tribunal.
  22. Personally I have no problem with him saying it, it's refreshing and it is good to know the club think the same as the fans and his tweets in general have helped repair a bit be between fans and the club. That said it is a little unprofessional and probably shouldn't have said it in public. Hypothetically comparing it to everyday employment, it would be quite easy to build a case to dismiss Gabby. While the incidents earlier in the year might not have been enough for gross misconduct, it could have been the start of building a case for dismissal, and continuing with setting him targets, to meet or fail with regards fitness, weight and all round responsibilities as a professional footballer. Whether this is even possible in the business of football I have no idea but things like the Docs Tweet wouldn't do any favours with regards to a dismissal, I imagine a Lawyer in a tribunal would be all over it.
  23. I'm doubting that is true and certainly would expect Gabby (or anyone) to reject a 1 year permanent contract offer.
