  1. This is what I thought too. Any idea an eta?
  2. Indeed it's bloody hard to tell someone outright. Got to do it via a standardised process eg .one to one's etc where the sh*t get highlighted and get them to work to agreed targets. Build up the evidence of a period of time makes it easy when you go to HR to progress it. It's win-win, they either buck up and do it, f*ck off as they can't be arsed or f*ck it up which makes it easy to go to hr. The last time I had to do it HR were surprised i had 9 months of documentation. Like you said HR are generally just reading the manual and don't actually get it, but I did have a good HR lead where I used to work.
  3. Yes they are utter sh*te, we've only had it a few weeks and the velcro is going on them and spewing paper and card. Who ever at biffa (or whatever company it is) who came up with them, is a complete tool.
  4. He did OK. Could have done better for the first goal and definitely the second. Needs some coaching in not bouncing about so much when the shot comes and you're in the air you gave to land then move.
  5. I suspect that Higgins had some dirt or similar on the snooker hierarchy, that they didn't want coming out. Maybe something like asking players to 'extend' games they were well in front in for the TV. So they gave him a light sentence on offering to throw frames so them doing it anyway it didnt come out.
  6. This ref was always going to do something silly early on. Was reading earlier he is known for being card happy. They should have been prepped for this especially with him being French and that being a possible dicider next week.
  7. How long before they instigate the cabbage? This one would even come in a kit.
  8. Tbh I thought it was a pen in real time. If you get smashed like that anywhere else it's a foul for sure. I don't know what VAR is getting so involved for really he gets there first and the keeper smashes into him, does get the ball but is already going through him. Not really clear and obvious to change the decision.
  9. Total utter bulshit. He's stationary he doesn't move into him. He ran into him.
  10. If he gives it for the shirt pull then it's very very soft indeed but it's a blantant dive either way as whatever contact there is there is not enough for him to go down like that (remember its not a non contact sport).
  11. Having spent years commuting by train around the Midlands. These 2 things were very useful https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/ https://traksy.uk/live All from opensource information But that is one is a very useful addition.
  12. I wouldn't blame them if they hadn't been sitting on their behinds getting paid for it during lockdowns. If the extra test per day that their getting asked to do is for a limited period of say 9 months then they are indeed rocket polishers of the highest order. Anyway going back to tests, I had mine at 8:30 in the morning and managed to drive the grand total of 2 miles due to some severe congestion f**keries. The examiner said "I think I'm going have to pass you" but you could tell by the way he was shaking his head he didn't want to. Fortunately there's no minimum distance covered (or at least there wasnt then)
  13. Southgate is clueless. Let's just sit back and let them have the ball rather than keeping it in their half.
  14. Utter BS. Another example of no common sense. The rule was put in place of no stopping originally to stop the taker trying to make the keeper move before the shot. Those massive stutters in run ups do the same. Needs cutting out. Anyway they've been the best team overall. Let's see what happens tomorrow.
  15. It's what commentry should be. Actually commentating on what's going on.

Thanks all for your input. Think I'm going to go with a Tissot in the end, hadn't really looked at them that much before. The PRC200 automatic, similar to @Tegis. Bonus was I also found it with some very good discount so less than £500 from EJ.

    Watches

Thought you guys may be able to give some advice as I've been toying with buying a new watch. For the last few years I've been using a variety of low/mid range sports watches for day to day wear and a Hugo Boss watch for anything smart. I was looking to get something that I could wear all the time, apart from sports/diy etc but will also stand up to be worn if out on an evening. First i thought about getting a Garmin Fenix6 but I dont want it to be stuck in a drawer/out of date in a few years. So looking around I was leaning towards a Longiness Conquest of some description, I like the design and the price point is right for me. I quite like the idea of the automatic mechanism as I'll be wearing it a lot, but what are the thoughts of that vs Quartz? or is there another watch I should consider? nb. I don't like a metal strap - due to a bad left arm break when I was a kid I wear on the right arm and a metal strap is a pain for me.
  18. That little jink inside from Jack before the pass does the fullback on that first goal. Then the assist. Lovely stuff.
  19. The movement is horrendous and the passing is a little predictable
  20. Still no vaccine for me. After speaking to the docs, which said 'all ok go and get the vaccine' and the vaccine centre then saying they wouldn't do it and the docs would have to do it. The docs have yet again rearranged the appointment, so another weeks wait. Ffs.
