  1. True... ...but they drew 0-0 with Wolves whilst down to 10-men, so you never know.
  2. Complete overreaction. I imagine Derby were no better than 5th favourites for the title at the start of the season and are currently 6th. “Failed badly” ffs. The failures this season have been Sheff Wed, Reading, Hull and Sunderland.

It’s more dodgy, absolutely. Sure, City and Chelsea have money but they’re also huge sides who can attract talent. A side in the Championship signing Porto’s captain? Yeah, OK - Mendes I’m sure had no “relevance” there. He certainly must have been looking after the players’ best interests only

"Championship winners Wolves have had their relationship with super agent Jorge Mendes approved by the EFL, who say he "holds no role at the club"... ...The EFL findings said that Mendes should not be categorised as a 'relevant person' because he does not have the powers of a director or senior official at the club. A 'relevant person' can also be someone who has control over the affairs of the club." (Link: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/43896789) Absolutely laughable and, hopefully, going to open floodgates everywhere.
  5. a] That's a pretty hypothetical line right there. Your mate reckons Nuno is getting the boot, presumably? b] Well... no. I'd be pretty gutted if we got rid of a manager "for the sake of it". If he's unsuccessful, sure. But for the sake of it?! No thanks.
  6. They obviously aren't safe just yet, but in the true spirit of our prediction battle, @VillaChris (I'm sure you won't let me forget about Bournemouth)...
  7. Didn't the program state that NUH are paying private healthcare providers £500,000 (not sure of time period) just to be able to discharge patients? It's ridiculous. I find it all massively upsetting and genuinely can't understand why a government wouldn't invest properly in healthcare (and education, but that's another story). Look at the **** state of it and do something about it.
  8. Hard to watch ‘Hospital’ and not think “what the **** is this Government playing at?”. Pretty shocking underfunding.
  9. Brilliant that Sean Morrison **** up twice after that video. Cardiff defending was unusually terrible this evening.

    Liverpool

Awaiting to hear mass outrage r.e: Roma being thrown out of Europe etc. after their fans ambushed Liverpool fans. Far worse than throwing things at a bus, after all.
  11. Some friends and I have this exact trophy as our fantasy football trophy
  12. Potentially. I think this season we've actually been better against Fulham (in both games) than we have against Cardiff. Even when we lost 2-0 to Fulham, they weren't dominant at all (although were comfortable after their 2nd) and we were missing Grealish, Adomah etc. Pretty sure their 2nd goal was a goalkeeper error punished from 40 yards or so, too. Obviously a very good team, but nothing to fear really.
  13. Should have been Snodgrass as POTS. Probably Adomah and 2nd and Chester 3rd. Undoubtedly Chester has been solid this season, but the biggest triumph of this season has been our wide play. Snodgrass has a league-leading 14 assists so far, has chipped in with 7 goals and also won penalties. Biggest influence on our season by some distance.
  14. They were safe after their run of 3 wins in a row. Barnsley et al are garbage - I can’t believe the amount of people thinking they win 3 or 4 games. I guess just wishful thinking. Of course, my Bluenose mate reckons they still need 2 more wins...
  15. Brighton signed Pascal Gross for £3m so seems like Liverpool overpaid for Salah.
  16. I haven’t watched too much of Stoke, but by all accounts it does sound like they’ve played well under Lambert and been incredibly unlucky. Of course, football is all about results so it doesn’t particularly matter - but it sounds like his team has been “excellent” for him and not got the results that, perhaps, they’ve deserved.

    Wolves

I don't understand what point you're making here, sorry. Edit: Oh, he said about trying to gatecrash top 6 - well, yes, that would be the aim. I can't think of any examples of a mega-rich club being promoted from the Championship, so not sure what the comparison would be? Leicester won the bloody title quickly enough after promotion, though, and were League One not so long before that.
  18. I love the amount of hatred people have for a manager being positive in public

    Wolves

In fairness, he really isn't. He's just saying that's the aim of the owners and their spending this season has shown that they're willing to spend a lot to get success. Not expecting Wolves to "storm the Premier League", just that they'll spend a lot and sign some surprisingly high-level players for a team that has just been promoted from the Championship... ...which is exactly what our fans would be saying if we were in Wolves' position, given what Xia has said and what we've spent etc.
  20. I don't understand why there'd be such a long delay... ...but I equally don't understand why there's such uproar about correct decisions being made. Strange world.
  21. By who? Over excited Villa fans on VT or a general consensus? He's a limited midfielder who does well at Championship level and has a good shot on him. I'm not sure that's underrating him, either.
  22. The Cahill example isn't the same as a] he isn't a Villa fan and b] he wasn't a guaranteed, first choice player (albeit, it was a mistake to let him go). Sure, it worked out for him and he's done well, just as I'm sure it would for Grealish, but is there really that much of a pull for the player to leave first choice football at the club he supports with realistic ambitions of being promoted just to be at any old Premier League club? I'm just not convinced of the attraction given all that. And hell yes - of course we have a realistic chance of promotion next season. You don't think we do?!
  23. I just don’t see it. If I'm playing for the team I support and they have a very realistic chance of being promoted next season (assuming we don’t go up this time round), why would I join a West Ham/Burnley/Bournemouth/Leicester type club purely because they’re in the Premier League? I could understand if a top club came knocking, but just any old PL side? I don’t see it happening.
  24. Great shout - don’t think he can win manager of the season for that, but certainly shouldn’t go unnoticed.
