  1. I know 2 Scottish people who spent years wiping out their accent when they moved to London. By the time I met them I would never have guessed either wasn't from London. In a professional setting maybe I would if the other party couldn't understand me but otherwise **** other people.
  2. I'm leaning towards F1 even though I've not watched a race in about 10 years. Would be the first Villa game I've chosen not to watch for a long, long time.
  3. Not sure about that, mate. I'm sure he's a smart bloke but there are thousands destined to be similarly bland corporate execs following the same consulting route each year. Same could obviously be said for Purslow, but his track record of commercial deals is pretty impressive. Completely agree with the point you're making that this doesn't really mean anything in terms of footballing decisions.
  4. We only got 32,000 our first 2 seasons in the championship! Upper Trinity surely doesn't have 10k seats?
  5. They'll be pleased when they realise it's still in their bank account.
  6. **** me, nuance really has died. The whole point was people saying they think even Messi would struggle to look his best in our team so Grealish has no chance.
  7. I know you've been saying it for ages. His dad was pissed up telling everyone, right? Forgive me if I take 3rd hand knowledge on the internet with quite a large pinch of salt! Also, being pedantic, you said nothing is signed. He can't possibly be "done 100%" until it's signed because so much can change.
  8. No you don't, you're hedging your bets because it seems likely.
  9. And remember, it's good practice to wash your brush immediately after use so it's not crusted with filth the next time someone pulls it out of storage.
  10. I thought the film was decent and a pretty good cast. I must admit I was surprised how critically acclaimed it was but definitely worth a watch.
  11. I hate the parking thing. What annoys me more is the amount of people who seem to be taking the line of 'Well I pay for parking at work so why shouldn't they pay, ride a bike or take the bus'. Taking nothing away from the non frontline side of course, but I can't imagine working a stupidly long shift, losing a couple of patients then dragging yourself home on a bike or sitting on the bus surrounded by people. The attitude of anyone in the NHS who isn't a doctor or nurse is a drain on taxpayers funds is sickening as well. My own experience of the civil service tells me there are some bad people at the top but all public attitudes of constantly deriding everyone does is drives more and more people who care away. What has Sadiq Khan done? I didn't think he had any power over the NHS at all but its hard to tell with the overly complex organisational structures.
  12. Consistently throughout the day? Think I'd be the same.
  13. You don't do well with irony do you?
  14. I'm moving out of the city and am going to need to buy a car now. Probably going to get a pick up as I need a balance between being able to move stuff and not turning up to meetings in a Postman Pat van. I'll be setting up a business and thought I should wait a couple of months until there is some cashflow and lease something as a company vehicle. I can buy one now but it won't be urgent for a little while and I won't be setting up the company until August so it seems a bit pointless to me. Is there any benefit at all to buying personally rather than leasing a vehicle through the business? I may need to consider mileage as I'll be driving a fair bit for work and where I'm living can't get many places without getting in a car.
  15. First time I'd heard of these. Having Googled it, they look like grandma got jealous of Beryl's new car and thought **** it I'll get a garish new paint job and chuck a bit of bodywork on my Nissan Micra.
  16. Fair enough. I'm not quite 30 so have only ever known the days of big manager payouts when sacked and the rotating old boys club making a killing.
  17. By all accounts they quoted us a higher price than he was sold for and we obviously weren't willing to wait until the end of the window. One thing I can absolutely guarantee is Smiths role in the recruitment process will have very little to do with fees paid.
  18. I hope he chokes on his own lungs after violently coughing them out of his body too.
  19. @KenjiOgiwara of course we should, and demonstrably are, allowed to talk about it. The reason it got a few backs up is it has been constantly insinuated up to this point that people will be forced to kneel with lots saying that's absolute bollocks. When it was proven to be bollocks there is still an insinuation that this is super surprising in our world, even though I'm not aware of a single example of the opposite happening and someone being forced to make the gesture. Peer pressure is another thing. Let's be honest all most celebrities will be doing is making a financial calculation as to whether or not a certain position would hurt their careers. There is always going to be public opinion one way or another, personally I'm glad it leans towards supporting peaceful protests. It's not one sided anyway, as you'll know from the massive amounts of abuse Kapaernick took, including from the president and NFL owners. Has any high profile figure at all had a go at the drivers that didn't kneel?
  20. Has any organisation so far has tried to overrule people making their own decision on this?
  21. I know you can't which is why I found it such an odd comment to make that he's had the "correct amount" of attention. The fact you followed it up with a 'homo' joke because I dared to say something in here that wasn't tearing him apart. Lovely touch. You'll notice I wasn't even coming out in support of him.
