  1. If he doesn't ask for ridiculous wages there would be at least half a dozen championship clubs who would be interested in him. He is only 30.
  2. I kind of understand that in the Senate but not for the president who is supposed to represent the entire country. California is the 5th largest economy in the world on its own and surely it is reasonable to suggest that their voting habits should be treated as equally as the sparsely populated states.
  3. Spoilt for choice at the moment. A whole smorgasbord of Villa podcasts.
  4. Smith never seemed to have rated him, I think he saw him as a championship player to be honest when we bought in January in the promotion season. I think he will be sold or loaned out in January.
  5. Steady. Maybe we should have got a CL place, certainly in the 08/09 season but due to his reluctance to rotate the team was knackered down the stretch.
  6. Yes, I mean our system is not great but at least all consitutency have roughly the same population. There has been a recent guardian article about this and it says that California has 1 electoral college vote per 718,000 people, Wyoming has 1 electoral college vote per 193,000 people. It is insane.
  7. The polls consistently under represent right wing voters and I wouldn't be at all surprised that Trump gets reelected. The entire election boils down to about half a dozen swing states. Biden could well get 3-4 million more votes than Trump and still lose because of their ludicrous undemocratic voting system in which the most popular states are under represented in terms of electoral college votes. Four more years.
  8. This is the first time Grealish has actually been in a quality Villa side and he has been in the first team squad for half a decade. It must be so good for him now to really push on with Villa now that he is getting to the peak of his career.
  9. Do you know, do you know why they are ringing?
  10. Yeah but Mason Mount is an excellent defender.
  11. Will get better, how many defenders peak at 22? This looks like an outstanding signing in hindsight.
  12. Yeah though he is the Saturday guy. Its all far too relaxed and chummy but that's what the people want apparently. No actual trained journalists like the old days such as Des or David Coleman. I just fast forward through most of the banal interviews and analysis, saves me about half an hour of the show.
  13. I wiki'd it and Mark Chappers Chapman has been on MOTD2 since 2013. The host has got progressively worst from Adrian Chiles who wasn't bad even with the Alion connection, Colin Murray who at least was entertaining and now Chappers who just makes terrible bantz with his football mates.
  14. Great win. Well if they don't think that is entertaining then I will take us winning every week. It seems unless every game does not have goals in it then it must be a poor game in today's media world. Fine we will just keep on being competitive and go under the radar. I think Deano and the whole coaching set up needs a mention. Yes we have obviously recruited well but it is a sign of good coaching that players improve. I am looking at Konsa, Targett, Luiz, and Trez. Jack and Mcginn are class and Barkley adds extra quality to the mix. It is the first time for years that we have a good, well coached, balanced team. Probably since the Brian Little days. In fact this reminds of me the 95/96 season a bit already in having just stayed up and the squad being rebuilt with young players. Got up, stayed up, now pushing on.
  15. I can see Mourinho getting it when he gets sacked at Spurs in about 12 to 18 months. Every other country in Europe is sick of him apart from England as he still has some mates in the media left. Managing Portugal would be an admission that he could never get a high profile job again. I am not saying Portugal are worse than England, it is just it is a smaller country and generates less headlines for a massive egotist.
  16. It is mad that Man U paid 80 million for Maguire, who looks like a sub standard premier league player. Southgate is getting found out and its going to be fun seeing him fall apart in the next 18 months as the England Coach. Bring back big sam? Keegan?
  17. Southgate is just putting a rod on his own back with Grealish and his excuses in not playing him in a competitive match after a promising first start in a friendly are just plain bizarre. He has lost the plot and 2018 was just a glorious fluke, aided by a very generous draw. The euros will be of a better standard, certainly from the quarters onwards which would England's best case scenario looking at the recent performances. Ok we beat Belgium but it was not a good performance.
  18. Come on, what about the legend that was Oscar Acre? The 1960's version of Ali Dia.
  19. Maybe or maybe not. One of the USP (I know cringe) is that on any given day a lower place team 'can' give one of the big boys a bloody nose. Like Nowich beating Citeh last year or us beating Scousepool this year. Some sort of compromise will happen in which the Premier League will give or loan monies to the EFL for the short term. I can't see the prem dropping to 18 any time soon. The League Cup could well be scrapped though as most teams seem very ambivalent on it and doesn't really generate a huge wad of cash. Shame.
  20. I am still bemused how this got so much coverage, especially from the BBC. The Premier League opposed it, the FA opposed it, the DCMS opposed it and only 2 clubs out of the 20 ever put their name to this utter nonsense.
  21. I think at the time he was said to be a good role model for Jack. Its a shame that we didn't see the best of Joe Cole as before his nasty leg break, he was one of the most talented English players of his generation. Seems a nice fella too.
  22. I wish they stop saying this is a premier league proposal. It is a power grab by Man U and Liverpool aided by former Liverpool CEO Rick bloody Parry. I have not seen any other Premier League come out and support this utter garbage proposal. It won't get voted through, certainly in this make up. I suspect it will get kicked down the road, but the Premier League giving a one off solidarity payment to the efl.
