  1. I met Keith Bradley a few years back when he used to run a bar in Spain. I think he is retired now. He recalled that match with great pleasure and told a lad in a Man U shirt in the bar that he was in a side that beat the likes of Best, Charlton and Law. He also had a few stories about Ron Sanders as he was a coach with him at Blues in the 80s.
  2. Yes. And Celtic would laugh us out of the room. This would be 50 million plus. Not going to happen. No chance. Zero.
  3. I think we might wait until close to the window shuts and maybe get another forward in for not a huge amount of money, or even possibly a loan. We have spent a lot of money this window again with no sales to balance it. I think Milot will be staying in Germany.
  4. Well maybe. But maybe in another six weeks time the government will have completely different plans, like they did a couple of months ago. Just have to hope for the best. Personally I can't see any signifcant crowds in football grounds this calendar year but maybe start of 2021 again, if a vaccine is in production.
  5. Milner to Villa sounds like complete bullocks to me. And for 8 million is hilarious even at 34.
  6. They won't until they get new owners. The glazers take millions out of the club and they don't look after it. Old Trafford is looking shabby these days. In fairness to Fergie he squeezed the last couple of titles out on ageing team and papered over the cracks really. Since then they have chucked a load of money around with vastly different coaches and have been nowhere near the title.
  7. If Watkins can show as much improvement this season than Konsa has had in 12 months I will be very happy.
  8. All fan trials in October cancelled. Not really a surprise but it must be nightmare for football clubs to plan for when they can invite crowds back. I originally thought October was far too early. I would be surprised if any sort of crowds are allowed in before Christmas. Clubs below the Championship will go out of businesses. The entire reason why the National League was going to start in October was on the expectation for allowing crowds back. They must be in a desperate situation. The premier league and FA will need to step in or a Macclesfield will happen every week.
  9. A workmanlike team that finished eight places over us just two months ago. Er ok.
  10. A win is a win. I will take a boring one nil every time over a exciting game in which we drop points. Need to be a bit more clinical in the final third. Great start for Martinez and Konsa is going to be fun to watch this season. I think its a interesting point that the starting XI today only 3 of them were last summer signings (if you exclude Mings as he was already on loan at Villa). I know Heaton and Wes are injured but I think it shows overall Smith is/was not convinced by a fair few of them- Guilbert, Engels,Nakamba spring to mind. Despite nearly 200 mil having been spent in about 15 months our bench looked rubbish. Football is a game in which billionaire owners can quickly become millionaire owners. Do they have the stomach for it?!
  11. That could be the plan. But then again it could be like last summer when we obviously had a forward lined up but it then didn't go through, which led to the situation why we bought Samatta in January.
  12. Colin Murray still thinks he is funny and the studio looks like a broom cupboard, and there is no HD option. I just hope we don't ever go back to that for a whole season!
  13. JT had no pace and did ok or has it got even quicker since then? Its not like we play with a particularly high line.
  14. Yeah on Quest. The efl must be geniuses to moving their highlights package from the BBC, to Five, and now Quest.
  15. What else do you propose? Paper, scissor, stone?
  16. Once said to have played with a Umbrella in the rain. Who knows if that happened but when the legend becomes fact, print the legend.
  17. Also is said loan player helps to make Villa look like a established mid table prem team then that in time will attract better players to move to us in about 12-18 months time, if we look like a side that would start to challenge for europa league places again. If you just keep buying players at the same level then that will not really improve you unless we have magic coaching.
  18. Would be against the current philosophy but with some much uncertainty in the world a cheeky loan for a high quality player could make all the difference for a season. I agree mostly in the principle in buying young players who will improve but you have to say that was one of the reasons why we nearly got relegated last year. We just need a little bit of extra quality now to push the team on now.
