  1. Absolutely fantastic to see some crowds back. Hopefully this is just the first step back.
  2. Does anyone remember the quarterback crisps you used to get for about 10p? Hmmm, I can still taste the additives.
  3. Exactly. I don't want to sound too much like old man shouting at TV but the bbc sport does seem to have a bit of an agenda at the moment. They are consistently going on about proposed changes to the premier league when most other outlets have not really commented on. Women's football seems to be covered more than the entire league one and two levels as well for example but there you go.
  4. Underachieving squad. One of the biggest teams in the championship with a solid support base. About to get taken over with more dosh coming in. He could a lot worse with his first job. Personally I don't know what the Cowley brothers have done not to be linked with every new championship job. Its baffling that Sheffield Wednesday went with Pulis who is yesterday's man.
  5. You could say this has gone for a Burton. Topical.
  6. If you win the cup you get into Europe, like what Arsenal did last season. Well at least this will be on TV to see if plucky little Aston Villa can beat Jurgen Klop's Liverpool -provided they are not boycotting the competition as they will have to play 3 games in a week. The poor Lambikins. I don't know how they can cope with all these matches given they have so little money to patch up their squad.
  7. We are mid table with a game in hand. We are creating chances every game but are making some silly mistakes. We have Grealish as our captain and has signed a new conrtact and the head coach who is one of us. We have some of the best owners in the league. A couple of years ago we were days from going into administration and starting at -10 points in the championship so lets have perspective. Its all gravy.
  8. You mean regular England international Mings? Ok fine.
  9. Newcastle might get called off due to the covid outbreak they have in the squad, so we could be stewing on this for a while. Our momentuem seems to be going to a juddering halt. Smith's sides are known for being streaky and we are certainly that at the moment.
  10. Its strange really that the new breed of coaches insist on a style of play as soon as they come into a club, often when the bulk of the squad can't play that style. They then demand huge amounts of money to rebuild the team, but often the head coaches often now are not given the time to finish off the 'project. Rinse and then repeat.
  11. Most Arsenal fans seem to be right behind him. Its amazing really as they would be frothing at the mouth if this was happening under Emery or even later day Wenger. A lot of things going on at Arsenal and I don't think you can blame Arteta for a lot of it. Kronke is clueless.
  12. I can't recall a sports star being such a personification of his or her country. Ever. I can think of a few like Bradman, Pele, or Haile Gebrselassie but I don't think they are close.
  13. He was so much more than a dodgy handball in a World Cup Quarter Final, but you would not know it from the red tops. Lineker said that the surface at the Azteca was dreadful so it is even more incredible how he scored the second goal.
  14. Its al down to central's government deep suspicion towards local government, and they have never been given the tools or resources to fight this disease. Funding has been massively cut for a decade and they don't have enough tax raising powers themselves to fund the incoming massive cash shortfalls. Still we are all going to level up. Well some of us in nice houses with nice jobs in the nice parts of England.
  15. Most pubs I like to go to don't serve meals so your choice is going to be limited to spoons and other generic 'family' pubs.
  16. So wonder how long these tiers will stay or get changed again? The last lot lasted about 2-3 months before failing? Personally I want 42 levels topped off by Mark King playing slap bass.
  17. Looking at his career for some reason Spain was always a disaster for him. The 82 world cup, his time at Barcelona and his ill fated comeback at Sevilla. It was Napoli which made his club career.
