  1. What a surprise. He is like a bad smell and we just can't get rid off! More clubs than insert relevant modern golfer.
  2. I just don't think they can ever be a particularly ambitious football club. Yo-yoing between the prem and championhip is probably the best they can hope for. Teams like Forest or Sheffield Wednesday would be delighted with even that . They are sandwiched between Wolves and us who both have far larger support bases. Still at least they aren't Blues. The best thing you can say about Albion is at least they are close to the M5 junction so you can leave quickly and get the hell out.
  3. It must be nailed on. He is bored and would like another £4 or 5 million. Its probably his last chance to be in the Premier League which is important for a egotist like Fat Sam. If they get relegated then he can walk away and blame the owners. He is from Dudley so the legend is going home.
  4. Albion 9th full time manager in 10 years? Not bad.
  5. Get Steve Clarke back. Even if they get relegated its a massive step up from managing Scotland. Let him manage them in the Euros and then leave. I always forget he got them 8th. Either that or Fat Sam.
  6. Wes is also investing in a new railway line between LA and Las Vegas. That's a brave move.
  7. City are blowing it. Liverpool look much more vulnerable this season- just have to mention 7-2 again- and City are not putting any pressure on them.
  8. I think the most worrying think about this affair is that Grealish is still mates with Ross McCormack. He stunk the place out while he was at Villa, and now he is coming back from the grave to give us even more grief. I thought you couldn't get past his gates?
  9. Personally I think he deserves his banning by driving a Land Rover. Just think of the CO2 emissions people.
  10. Oh well at least he didn't drive his car into a wall like Tony Adams.
  11. All these guys can afford to have paid chauffeurs for the rest of their lives if they can't drive properly. You would think he would have been extra careful after the event in March, but obviously not. Very stupid.
  12. I hope its a lesson from him. The more he becomes famous the more he will be under the spotlight.
  13. Now they haven't even got a quarter of a ground and are forced to squat at the sty.
  14. Blues, and Albion. Albion was the big derby up to about the 1960s and recent years has been the Blues when we are in the same division. Wolves have Albion and to a much lesser extent Stoke. That's about in the West Midlands apart from the fact every club hates us because we are the biggest. Coventry- Villa was a example of that as Coventry hate Villa and we just saw them as a irrelevance. Coming up for 20 years since JPA sent them down. The rest are meaningless 'midlands derby' guff spouted in the pre match build up.
  15. Still our best non UK or Irish manager by a considerable distance. Not a huge about of competition in fairness.
  16. It still doesn't make sense that after making the big change and bringing in a Continental manager like Houllier after MON, we panicked and went for McLeish. That just smacked of Lerner giving up on Villa, and basically he had. Houllier was the last 'what if' off his time at Villa Park in that could we have evolved into a respectable top ten prem club holding our own, instead of circling the drain for the next five years
  17. Yes I remember that. I took a work colleague of mine who was a red (I know boo hiss) and to be fair he kept quiet even when they equalised late on. I thought we would beat them that day and it was such a young scratch side as well. I think some of the more old school players like Dunne, Collins, Gabby and even Petrov took a deep dislike to Houllier which didn't help. Signing Bent kept us up and it was frankly ridiculous we got a top 10 finish that season. However if Houllier stayed on even as a DOF I am sure we would have done better than the Mcleish/Lambert/Sherwood/Garde era. Edit- bloody hell that was 10 years ago!
  18. Condolences to his family and friends. Obviously will be best remembered at his time at Liverpool where he stopped the post Hillsborough rot and ended the boot room era. Some former players rave about his management, and other less so. It was a shame at Villa that just when it looked liked he was getting his methods across he had to leave because of the heart problems. It might have been a different story in the years after if he just moved upstairs in a DOF role.
  19. The internet is a echo chamber for the extremes. I am sure there are lots of normal Arsenal fans out there but get drowned out by the nutters.
  20. And yet Artera has done well in the cups. All very strange.
  21. They couldn't go down. Surely not. Could they?
  22. What's Stewart Houston up to these days?
  23. Perhaps Emery wasn't so bad at all. Perhaps you shouldn't sack someone if they have a silly accent.
