  1. I've not read the reports or rumours but if we haven't had some reaction in the dressing room I'll be very disappointed. I want the players to feel how we do, I want them calling each other out and driving standards. If they need a bit of a scrap, I hope that happens as well.
  2. I don't think it really matters who's captain. Will Ming's be any less vocal, I doubt it. Will Mcginn be louder, I doubt it. Both are good ambassadors to the club. Both try their best but sometimes fall short. Why are people that bothered.
  3. If this happened id like to know the plan. My impression has been that our current setup is less about the individual. Smith isn't your typical top of the hierarchy but part of a team put together. Will changing one of that team make a difference. Personally I'd like the structure to have chance to settle. We've got new coaches, new players and it needs some time.
  4. A few bad results with a team that needs time to gel and bed in some players. Smith has delivered improvements every year and should be given the opportunity to do that again. Were not Watford and he's one of our own. I'll judge at the end of the year where I expect us again to be sat around that mid table space.
  5. Yes, they chucked a massive soft play in the middle of it and reduced how much chocolate you can eat. I'd say it's now only really relevant for a 4 year old.
  6. Thinking of you mate and fully feeling your situation. We've got 2 kids and also lost one in between at 13 weeks. At the time we had already had one kid and felt like we were immune. How could we lose a kid when we already had one healthy one, it just wasn't on our radar. Only later did we realise how cruely common it was. Now I don't know how to think about it. Is it another baby completely? Is it the daughter I later ended up with? Would it have meant we wouldn't have had my daughter after all.
  7. I don't think it's about commercialisation, it's about crowd safety and policing. Knowing who's attending games allows the club and police to maintain crowd standards and take action against those who fall below those standards. Being able to use etickets is also really useful for me. Most of my villa supporting friends now live in other parts of the country and this saves the logistical headache of handing over a card.
  8. I'm a little burnt by Barkley so I'm going to say, let's give him a season and then work out whether to sign him based on consistency of form and fitness record.
  9. Started the season slow last year then bagged a first half hat trick against Liverpool. His performances are very good, not taken his chances but I think we all know he will.
  10. Suspect that injury was more embarrassment for the slip. Understandable but frustrating as he still had the ball. Was excellent otherwise, desperate for him to get a goal.
  11. I thought it was tactical, both our full backs played high up the pitch first half, second half we seemed to go into more of a back 5 to stop greenwood and Ronaldo getting in behind.
  12. Brilliant today, that midfield 3 are so good together.
  13. Come on, a few cameo appearances doesn't make him our best player. Show me the consistency and impact that Watkins has given and I'll put him in the same bracket.
  14. So loud yesterday, I've taken my lad in the holte this season and he's not known anything like it. After all these years you can take a good atmosphere for granted, great to see it all again through the eyes of a child.
  15. I thought the opposite. Happy to go up against Mina but the chances didn't fall for him. Everytime he pressed, Everton went long, we won the ball back. So under appreciated and could have been picked out by his team mates a little more in good positions. Look at his sprint for Bailey's goal, others wouldn't have bothered. I think he and Martinez are our best players.
  16. Really impressive performance and starting to build a really strong midfield relationship with Dougie and Mcginn.
  17. Just ordered an IX3, anyone else taken the electric plunge.
  18. It makes sense but I'm still not sure why any of those things stop us finishing 11th. Agree on Everton and West Ham and agree on the poor pre season. I just think the shape of the squad is better, now down to whether the management team can get them to gel.
  19. I don't think it's enough for Europe but we've added: Cover at full back, Cover at centre half, increase competition for Watkins, improvement on Traore, improvement on AEG. Chuck in Ramsey being a year older and Sanson part of the squad. That all indicates to me a year on year improvement.
  20. Understand the Grealish part but the midfield is unchanged, other than losing Barkley who by all accounts wasn't great. If you take into account his injuries, I hope the strengthening of the forward line can replace the Grealish impact. I'm not seeing strong sides below us some remain optimistic for at least 11th.
  21. Out of interest, why not 11th? Just because of Jack?
  22. I'd never really watched him before or understood the hype. Thought he was solid though. Keen to see how the season goes, I see Ming's and Konsa and the starting partnership, I'm also sure he hasn't come to sit on the bench.
  23. Not something to worry about, not all players take to clubs. Take a look at Harry Kane's loan career, mix of starts and sub appearances.
  24. A fair compromise as others have said. Of course we would all love it if he'd chosen Villa but he was Argentinian before he joined us and he will be after he leaves. To block is counter productive and drives a wedge between player and country.
  25. I don't know what more he could have done. The best side possible given the injuries, Watkins potentially comes on earlier but it was clear they were nervous around his injury.
