  1. If he doesn't start tomorrow it's safe to say that SG doesn't rate him.
  2. watched him live for the first time today on a cold afternoon. he played in a 5 man midfield in a very comfortable win for Cheltenham. He seemed to play as an 8 in the first half and then a 10 in the second half. Id say he had an ok game, a bit like in the week i felt he struggled to get on the ball at times and he still needs more time to develop relationships with those around him. He doesnt seem to be struggling with the physicality which is good, the 5 man midfield probably helps with that. Things he did well: good supporting runs to the front 2, always an option. passes like a premier league player, always into the stride of a team mate. Good fitness levels Good shape. Things that werent great: Game passed him by at points, Cheltenham can be quite direct and he gets missed out Dropped deep at times to get on the ball when his team mates needed him to push on and trust them to find him. Id give him a 6 or 7 again out of 10. Others impressed more but a solid performance.
  3. I wonder if we will see Buendia drop back into the midfield 3 when bailey is back. Having a player a little deeper with his passing range will help but I've not idea who would be dropped.
  4. I really really really like him but it's also early days. This loan was about getting him playing and also about him proving his fitness. Things are going in a really good direction, the only thing villa can do is to keep giving him a reason to make this deal permanent. Nights like last night will help.
  5. I think this will be a good loan spell. It may not be the one where we really see his value but I think it will help him develop both physically and on the defensive parts of his games. He will learn to ride tackles, he will learn that he has to take his chances and he will also have a decent level of competition for midfield places.
  6. Slow start for me, felt like he went twenty minutes without a kick but slowly growing into the game. Looks confident on the ball, some nice touches but I think needs time to get to know his team mates. Cheltenham are behind so need to push a bit more, unfortunately they have a tendency to go direct and not sure that will suit Ramsey.
  7. I'll see if I can do some screenshots and post them
  8. Will keep an eye out. I've done this a few time this season without any issues
  9. I can't see why not. I just clicked reallocate, changed the price type for adult and then could select another adult.
  10. On the ticketing part of the website, I click on my name to bring up my profile. Under my name their is a link called tickets, this shows all of the tickets remaining for me and my son. If I scroll down to the Leeds game, I can click on his ticket and then click on Change Price Type. This launches a form that allows me to reallocate to someone in my network and pay the price increase. Sounds like your ticket may have some restrictions. This wasnt the most intuitive thing but it worked for me.
  11. Sharing in case others haven't realised (I hadn't). It's now possible to reallocate your season ticket seat to someone else on line. My son is a little young for evening games on a school night, I often upgrade his seat and allocate to a mate. You can now do this in the online portal, saves an hour on the phone to the ticket office.
  12. I think what impresses me most is that his focus on effort and competitiveness allows him to succeed below the top level. Many players of his talent wouldn't be able to play alongside or coach those who can't do the same things. I think his time in Scotland really helps in that respect.
  13. I'm about a third of the way through his book now (so almost considered an SG expert) the things that really sticks out is how high his standards are. He loves talent but expects work rate and effort all of the time. I can see him struggling with a number of our current players in that regard.
  14. A couple of things I suppose. 1. He's in the shop window, our price in the summer is likely to be better for a player that is in demand/has contributed towards a team staying up (if it happens). If he spends 6 months on our bench, we clearoy don't want him, that may impact a sale price. 2. We may not have anyone trying to buy him right now, a loan helps get wages off the book.
  15. Deal makes sense to me. Targett won't play, very clear, not even given a chance since Digne signed. He didn't even get the chance to fight for his play, I just don't think Gerrard rates him. The loan probably makes sense to Targett, let's see if they stay up and it's much more palpable for the Newcastle fans to have a loan rather than a new signing with a release clause. Well done Targett, good servant for the club, helped us establish ourselves.
  16. Trying to work out if we've got some new links or just someone's got some new stats.
  17. That's the balance, do we sit and wait or cash in and try to get something proven now. Feels like the strategy has shifted in this respect.
  18. I think he's very adaptable. Can play in a 4 or as a wing back. I think hes also very settled with Konsa, Mings which helps. I'd just like to see more quality in the final 3rd and a few less rash penalties conceded.
  19. I think we all like him, if you want to progress though it's absolutely a position to improve in. I'm not convinced he gets into any top 8 side.
  20. I'd sell for 40m. He's good, I think we can find better. He's prone to the odd penalty and final quality can be low.
  21. my first job was with rolls royce, every friday we went to the pub during a half hour lunch break, the record at the time was 4 and a half pints during the 30 minutes with lots of pre planning with the pub. A lot of heavy machinery was operated during the afternoon. All seemed particularly normal and no different to any tory work event ive read about.
  22. Its really interesting and I'm afraid I can't offer much of a view. I watched him against Chelsea but didn't realise his age and potential. What confused me today is that Cheltenham are often a club who are promoting other clubs youth players, to have such potential on your own bench seems odd. Villa must have been aware but sounds like he's Southampton bound.
  23. I've never heard of him but glad we are chasing a CDM, its much needed particular in the system Gerrard wants to play. He doesnt need to be better than Dougie, just better at CDM. I also wouldnt put too much weight on fan forums, use ours as an example. If a rival club wanted to buy a villa player and used VT as a guide, they would either be getting someone who was brilliant, or completely shit based on what day of the week it was.
