That's why I said they're the better team rather than they have the better players.

They're a better team than us so a draw would be a good result. However, if we stick with the 4321 formation we will narrowly lose whilst having one shot on target.

I suspect he's suggesting that we are generally quite poor at selling our players and usually you end up having to loan them out instead. Unfortunately, he's not wrong and it's certainly an area in which we need to improve.

Yep, Lower Decks is an animated Star Trek show on either Netflix or Amazon (can't remember which!) It's not quite as bonkers as Rick and Morty (which is superb) but is an excellent show in its own right. -

I don't really watch much Star Trek but I do very much enjoy Lower Decks. The right amount of humour, nerdiness and, surprisingly, heart. -
Gerrard has us looking scared of the better teams in the league. This must be something he has brought to the club as it was never the case when Smith was manager. In our remaining games against the top half teams we need to much more intention and ability. We know the team is capable of it.

Expected result. Previously we always looked like we could win (or lose) against anybody. Since Gerrard has come that's no longer the case. Meh

We haven't really looked like beating any of the better teams under Gerrard and I'd expect that trend to continue. 3-1 to Arsenal

I thought when the season started that we would finish 11th again and, whilst the journey to get there has been more turbulent than I thought, I have seen little to change my mind. We will just miss out on the top half.

With the season pretty much over in terms of anything to play for I'm finding it difficult to feel much emotion about the result. West Ham are a good, well organised team with a good manager and good players, they thoroughly deserved the win. Hopefully we can get closer to them next season

West Ham are a good team so it's no disgrace losing to them. We need to get that about us for next season. It's also a learning curve for Gerrard, he will hopefully look at what Moyes did to tweak and change things during the game so that he can improve for next season.

Moyes is a wiley operator and will be looking and changing things as it progresses. Can Gerrard respond?

Man Utd have been pretty shit but they do have some excellent players. If they ever get a decent manager they might actually become good again.

Yep, I suspect 9th is probably our ceiling for this season which after the disrupted start/ change of manager/ poor runs of form would actually be very good. Europe next season hopefully!
