  1. Not wanting to move off topic but I was there as well but decided to move away in the middle of the event as there was a large group of man yoo "fans" chanting and walking up towards the event about to be met by about 4 police. Hopefully it all passed off ok, but didnt want to risk daughter and myself in the middle of a "situation". She was unaware of the fact it could have kicked off but at 63 yo I have seen enough of footy violence over the years to recognise the signs of it all potentially turning nasty... Bloody shame to be honest that I missed some of the event as I saw all of them play in the 70's and 80's....but who the f**k allowed a raucous group of away fans to march up that road to almost gatecrash the event???? Surprised there has been no mention of this anywhere... VTID Derek
  2. We need to be at least 3 up by the 92nd min to allow for dodgy penalties, fergy time, VAR and a soft winning goal. I agree with lots on here it does make you wonder what is the point? But I am still going on Saturday making the 2 hr journey from Newmarket because we might just, just get revenge and I want to be at VP to witness it VTID Del
  3. Not only the best players and manager but also the ear of the ref's and the clowns looking at VAR
  4. I recall the Southampton loss when the players were going off at halftime when we were all singing the worse song any supporter can sing about their own team...... "Your not fit to wear the shirt"......and it was well deserved....shocking game for a Villa fan to endure. The paper aeroplanes was the most entertaining event of that day, especially those that reached the pitch after being launched from the back of the Holte, bigger cheers than when "pointy" Westwood scored
  5. In the "good old days" before football was invented in the 1990's, teams would consist of 12....11 players and one sub. This new rule does favour the sky scum 6 though as they have enough quality players to cover for this eventuality
  6. The Ref has got to ask himself if that tackle on the Newcastle player was outside the box would it be a foul?......of course it would! So why not a penalty then if its inside the box? I have said this before something is not right with VAR....corruption? Wrong colour shirt?, top 6 club?.....if this was any other "industry" there would be a police investigation....
  7. Collusion?, conspiracy?, cartel?, corruption? or coincidence? Liverpool beat villa by a dodgy penalty Man utd beat Norwich by a dodgy penalty Man city beat Wolves by a dodgy penalty Chelsea beat Leeds by a penalty in 90+ injury time All on the same weekend, all reviewed by VAR's I have to say I am starting to get a bit suspicious and uneasy about how the so called "top" teams seem to get the decisions. Is it dodgy brown envelopes passed between clubs and refs? There is huge amount of money in the game Results massaged to make the season interesting for the TV/plastics? I dunno.........but something is not right VTID Derek
  8. Where I work there are a handful that refuse the jab saying its full of Bill Gates nanobots etc. One of them said a friend of hers did have the jab and said that she held a magnet against where the needle went in to pull out the nanobots.... Didn't have the heart to tell her that all those nanobots are made of non magnetic material......
  9. Good to meet you MNVillan, thought I would say hello when I saw you holding up your scarf on the Holte End.....not many people from Minnesota normally on the Holte End so I guessed it was you. Glad you enjoyed the experience and got home ok. All the best VTID Derek
  10. Went to the game last night and have just been reading the "fans" comments on the BBC website. Seriously, man city fans are a deluded bunch of entitled plastic idiots.... VTID Del
  11. Well I had the pleasure of meeting him with his other half on the Holte about 30 mins before kick off and welcomed him to Villa Park. He was 2 rows behind me and further along, so i did not see him anymore after that. I hope they both enjoyed last night, i also await his report... You don't think he is still at Villa Park do you?... VTID Derek
  12. I really cannot understand the negative comments about our new Head Coach, so what if he played for liverpoo and is a scouser? What happens if he turns us around and under him we win the FA cup next year? Lets just give him and our team our 110% support, if his ambition is to manage liverpoo one day, so what?.....but to get there he needs to show success with the Villa, and I am confident he will
  13. The truth his whoever Villa appointed...someone on here would be annoyed ! He is the Villa Head Coach and while he is in that position....he gets my full support
  14. Reading almost all the posts on here, there is not one manager that everyone seems to want! Its time to put the future of Villa in the hands of the owners and trust that they appoint the right man (or woman!) to take us the next step. Very important that they get this right, if they don't we will go down....I am sure our owners know this and that their investment will be at stake as well as the future of Villa. Get this appointment wrong and we could end up in the backwaters in the lower leagues with teams such as Sheffield Wednesday, Forest etc, former "giants" of the past...... Regards to all Del
  15. Can you imagine the opposite, we have just beaten West ham to now have 4 straight wins,.....VP atmosphere would be terrific, opposition teams scared, Villa team full of confidence etc etc. There is a fine line, the problem is while confidence breeds confidence, the opposite can occur and is harder to get out of the tailspin... Very concerning about how Dean turns this around
  16. We should never ever be in a position of being a one man team again and depending on one person to carry the game for us. When Gresford was not playing we were poor, and now he is gone we have not developed a system to play without him nor got the players. I have to agree with much of what TRO says on this site. We were beaten by a better team, a team not with one fancy dan individual that carried all the others. Moyes has done a good job with the kit stealers lets admit it. The thing that annoys me is we start to whinge about the 50 50 decisions, the ref, the weather, luck is not on our side etc etc. when results go against us There is something fundamentally not right with the squad this season The kit stealers progress is where we need to be...but does that make us "whingey entitlements" as fans? Not sure if sacking Dean is the right thing, but then I don't own AVFC and see my investment shrinking... All the best Del
  17. It is all my fault - I have to humbly apologise to all at Aston Villa F.C., players and staff and of course all you good people at Villa Talk... Last week predicting that we would lose against man yoo I decided to wood stain my internal doors with Osmo oil 3033 instead of following the match on here - imagine my surprise later on when I found out that we had won. This Sunday I decide to replace some guttering anticipating a similar result - imagine my disappointment when I heard that we had lost. Next week during the game I will be switching back to putting another coat of Osma door oil whether they need it or not - obviously working on the guttering was the wrong thing to do at the same time Villa were playing and for this hideous mistake I once again deeply apologise...... Regards to all Derek
  18. Why are our players so fragile?.....it seems every game we play someone picks up an injury. These "injuries" seem to take months to get over, where some clubs never seem to pick up anything like we do. I wonder if we will ever get to see our strongest team play this season...there is always someone bloody injured. And while I am in a grumpy mood (well I am 63!) what is it with the biased commentary....? why can't we have knowledgeable, neutral people commentating anymore? grrrrr.... VTID Derek
  19. Watch England play?.........I would sooner creosote my fence and then watch it dry
  20. I was watching with interest on last nights telly about the history of the Premier League in particular the first season....well it was interesting until it became a wa*kfest about yanited....the program became bloody obsessed with the scum ....shame really as that was the season that we finished runners up and of course the Villa hardly got a mention..... Regards to all Derek

Hope to go and see few games at Ipswich this season...only to see how he gets on! will let you all know No way am I a closet ipswich fan...!
  22. With recent comments on here about problems accessing the Villa website for tickets etc, then we should look to spend a tiny amount of jacks money on making the ticketing process and look of the website much easier and better for everyone. We need to attract more income then lets make it easier rather than a frustrating exercise that puts prospective supporters (customers?) off straight away... Regards Derek

And what about Tubby, his slightly over weight older brother?......
  24. I think Jack's leaving is a good thing in a way for Villa....perhaps he out grew us? But we all have to admit that several players seemed to hide behind him during games and we got over reliant on Jack, opposition set themselves up to negate him in a match i.e. "stop Grealish you stop Villa" Now he has gone we can build a "team" rather than seemingly dependant on 1 specific player to help us out Derek

Wow I used to go to Ipswich Technical College as well, way back in the 1970's! I still live within 45 mins from Ipswich, and as a Villa season ticket holder its a 1 3/4 hr drive to VP ....but I may now take the occasional visit to Ipswich if there is a night game on and hopefully keep everyone on here updated with how he is getting on....if he get to play Regards to all Derek
