    We need someone in the mould of a Diame / Dembele / Yaya Toure. Someone who can win the ball back when needed and/or rampage forward with good strength and purpose. Anyone know a player like that in the lower leagues or abroad who would be within our guesstimated budget? I guess that's the million dollar question.

    He's a player whose mind works much faster than his feet a lot of the time. I think that's why a fair few of his first touches can be so poor. I reckon he has a certain level of technical ability (gained from almost a decade in the Eredivisie) but I don't think he's used to the pace of the Premier League yet. From his performances so far, I think he's been improving, in terms of linking up with teammates and finding space. Hope the goal gives him the extra boost to kick on.

    Went to see Tame Impala last night at The Forum here in Melbourne. They're doing their first Australian tour starting here. It was my first ever live gig. A wicked performance at an awesome venue.

    From an article on the OS... Trying a 3 man defense after only a couple days of training is either incredibly ballsy or very silly.

    I would think it's only a matter of time before we see Drennan, Burke and Carruthers get a shot at the first team. Week after week, they seem to be doing the business, both in the U21's and the Next Gen. In Carruthers' couple of appearances for the first team, he looks like a tricky player who is wanting to take on defenders, something we don't have at the moment.

    I think people are getting too carried away with this "30 page dossier" business. The report was probably just "Yeah, he looks pretty good. Let's get him" just in 50pt Impact font.

    To be fair, his "miracle ball" on Saturday at least, was quite accurate. Hardly turned it over and switched the play from the center out to the wide players effectively. I think he is our best corner taker as well.
