News all over Twitter saying Fletcher has gone to Sunderland for £14 million. Sky Sports and BBC however saying that Wolves have turned down a third bid and value him at £15M. Madness considering Podolski cost £9.1M :shock:

In regards to the proposed idea of a "marquee" signing, can I chuck out a name? Klaas-Jan Huntelaar? Valued around £17mil on transfermarket.co.uk. 28 years old. Proven striker with a fair bit of experience. We were linked with him a couple of years back. 1 year left on his contract at Schalke and apparently is hesitant to re-commit to a new one according to Four-Four-Two - http://au.fourfourtwo.com/news/247516,huntelaar-yet-to-commit-to-schalke.aspx. I'd much prefer him to Andy Carroll if we were to spend that kind of money on a forward. Maybe just a fool's hope though :winkold:

Napoli did this past season and everyone was jizzing themselves over their kit. It's all personal preference, you either like it or you don't. At the end of the day, if the players play well in this kit, people will look back on it and say what a great kit it was. That's how I see it anyway For the record, I like it. Although like most, I'm not a fan of the Macron man on the shoulders.

Just caught this on Eurosport yesterday for the first time as well. I never knew AVTV actually aired on TV here. I'm glad the club are getting the brand awareness up and showing the inner workings of the club on an actual television show. While the original article was focused more on the English community, I see similarities here. As an Indian/Australian, when I look at any football fans in the Asian community here, I mainly see ManU and Liverpool supporters. As people have already mentioned, success breeds popularity. To gain more followers, regardless of their ethnic background, I think if you play an attractive game, or win trophies, you gain supporters. Even if people jump on the bandwagon, it still equates to support and merchandising opportunities (i.e. shirt sales, etc). I'm hoping that both Holman and Herd wearing the Claret and Blue, can lift the awareness of Villa here. Possibly somebody from an Asian background, would do the same for Villa in the Asian markets. I only started following Villa back in '06 after choosing them as my Manager Mode team in FIFA (as ridiculous as that sounds). For my part, I'll wear my Villa top around when I visit India on holiday in June
