  1. You were one of Garde's greatest advocates to take over from what I remember, I'd have thought you want to give him more time to get things together. Tim didn't win us any games with the same squad as Remi, in fact screwed things up for weeks picking far worse XIs and tactics in home games against teams we needed to beat off the back of throwing away a 2-0 lead away to Leicester with his shit subs.
  2. Even on Sunday when he came on, he didn't have much cutting edge but the mere fact that he searched for the ball, picked it up in almost any position and his first instinct was to look up seemed to give a bit of confidence to others. I'd love to see him at the tip of a midfield 3. I don't care much for the cause and correlation stuff, I'd just like to see what he can do if played in an advanced central midfield role, preferably with Ayew up top, Traore and Grealish out wide.
  3. I like Townsend, a loan deal seems like a no-brainier to me.
  4. I think Mourinho is desperate for the Utd job and would be willing to change his attitude. Utd are probably less picky now and would welcome him, even if Sir Bobby didn't. Still, it's always good to see him getting the boot, even if his behaviour has suggested that this is exactly what he has wanted since the summer.
  5. I hope we will keep much of the squad together. A year in the Championship, whilst a disaster for the club, would personally do some of the players some good, and hopefully they'd start the next season in the Prem with some momentum, assuming we get promoted.
  6. Maybe you should suggest a way of combining his two hobbies. I work with a couple of people who own rats and talk about them all the time, but I'd happily watch them go squish beneath a train or other vehicle.
  7. The most depressing thing about this season is that we were better than Leicester for most of the game. We only had a couple of the new boys in the team so the rest were being given time to settle, Gil and Grealish worked well together, and we had that attacking spirit we finished last season. Then the subs happened, and you couldn't get two more stark contrasts in clubs' seasons than ours and Leicester. I still can't believe Sherwood ripped up that team based on his substitutions losing the game. It's the next few weeks of utter shambles that has destroyed everything on the playing side, and it will be a miracle to get things back going in the right direction any time soon.
  8. I use a capo all the time on my acoustic so I feel a bit better about myself now. I think it's easier to barre on an electric then it is on acoustic, plus I like the jangly sound you get from playing open chords with a capo on playing acoustic. Regarding Noel Gallagher, his voice is a lot higher than Liam's so probably puts a capo on to play the old Oasis songs in a different key to suit him. Either way he has never considered himself a great guitarist, Gem Archer who played with him at the gig however is amazing, to my amateur ears anyway.
  9. I think that song was a direct dig at music writers wasn't it? Needless to say, they have always had bad press since then, not that they didn't deserve a lot of it as they went a bit poo. The first two albums I liked because each song seemed to have a little story behind it and was catchy.
  10. He seems to have improved Veretout and Ayew, he brought back Amavi at the first opportunity but unfortunately that's gone tits up due to injury, he has given minutes to Gil unlike Sherwood, he's banished Gabby hopefully, he's dealt with Grealish like an adult and shown he can make a tough decision, generally I think his XIs make some sense unlike what Tim was picking, though Gestede shouldn't be near a starting XI. I thought Sinclair was good for an hour yesterday and generally adds more to our attack than he is given credit for. Remi is also clearly not thick as shit and an embarrassment in interviews. Another manager might have got more cohesion between the back 5, but then the options are so poor and he's had to change it every week due to injury. I think even Moyes or Allardyce would struggle to achieve that too. It's way too early to write him off, we need to pick up as many points before January then have a strong window. I think we are down anyway so it's a case of who do you want to rebuild the club, and I'm hoping he and his staff can do that.
  11. Arsenal did it a couple of other times, they are top class at in 3 or 4 one touch passes destroying a team from winning the ball on the halfway line. A lack of desire to get back from the midfield didn't help.
  12. True, coming on as sub to head the winner I'm happy enough with and can see some merit in him being used as plan B, but his overall ability is shocking.
  13. I'd like to find out who scouted this bloke and thought he could add anything. With the other players I can see some progress and developing into something half decent as they settle, but Rudy is as limited a footballer as I've seen and come from English football. And for £6m.
  14. Our heads could have gone down at half time but he seemed to be able to pick them back up and we played much better. I still think he has done OK and given time will come good, but it's going to be too late by then anyway.
  15. Really liked what I saw today. I think I'd prefer to see him slot in next to Sanchez with Gil in front of them. Get Sanchez to solely win the ball and give it to those two, he is a liability doing anything else. Veretout gets better each match as he gets fitter and up to speed which I'm pleased to see.
  16. That dribble he did today was frightening Got to be worth the last 20 today, I hope he is given a start soon. What is there to lose? During that dribble he looked up at least twice to see what other options he had on which is promising, and his crossing in that video looks excellent, so he obviously has it it in his locker. It's just hard to make a fantastic impression in 5 minutes, it's easy to try too hard.
  17. True, I thought the first 7 minutes were half decent too until Hutton had his brain fart. We just can't rely on our defence at all, I really hope Garde realises we have to attack against Newcastle, Norwich and Sunderland and plays Gil, Grealish and Adama behind Ayew.
  18. I feel like shit, Villa are shit, and our Christmas do at the all you can eat Indian has been cancelled for later. Life is shit.
  19. Fancy pulling down their winger inside the box 7 minutes into a match. Let's just gift them a head start when we are struggling enough as it is. Beggars belief. Just so utterly depressing that this is what we have served up to us.
  20. Pat is pretty cuddly as well, to be fair. I think TKD only got £250k on Millionaire when the Keppel woman and Pat got the million. Not sure what the new girl ever did to qualify.
  21. Surely neither of them are as bad as the new lady Egghead. She is irritating beyond belief as well. In other quiz show cheering up news, Countdown is well worth catching up on today
  22. You could say the same about Richards in Italy too, but he has come back quite strongly with us. I know he is a lot younger than Cole, but it seems that English players often have a dalliance with a foreign league and it goes badly very quick, largely because of the language issue as well as others. For me it's solely a case of whether he is fit enough, and if he is then it's a bit of a no-brainer until Amavi gets himself fit.
  23. Religion isn't bad as such, but blind faith is, and for me the more you educate people, the less likely they are to be gullible for specific interpretations of the batshit mental parts of books written long ago. I do think the long term solution to the problems in our world is building roads and schools because if you give people a job and their kids a school to learn science at then they will over a few generations sort themselves out, like we did in Europe, as it's not that long ago that we did batshit things in the name of religion.
  24. Tremendous Knowledge Dave from Eggheads's face. He's like a big cuddly teddy bear.
