  1. I couldn't really hear them singing God Save The Queen. I think ITV hadn't quite got the sound levels right, or I'm going a bit mutton. The minute's silence was perfect though.
  2. No definitely not, the problem is that the likes of ISIS follow the Salfist and Wahabbist view of Islam and take that list of things you posted as being true and right. I assume a huge majority of Muslims think it's a load of bollocks as most Christians think the violent, ancient stuff in the bible is bollocks. The problem is they've somehow managed to convince enough people to form an army, which I just can't understand. I can't think how anyone in their right mind having blind faith and trusting ancient texts, which is why I hope over 100 years we could educate religion out of people altogether if we put enough money and will-power into it.
  3. There are equally brutal and ridiculous bits in the bible too.
  4. Goldeneye is the best Bond film ever, the tank scene is brilliant. Natalya is in a different league to the Bond girl in Spectre too.
  5. I'm surprised they went ahead and showed Homeland last night, what with it being about terrorists in Europe. I guess there wasn't much violence in it this week.
  6. Seems like a decent appointment. He was at Boro under McClaren and Moyes at Everton I think which is a decent CV. I don't think he is a moron, anyway.
  7. I think we are fortunate to have the channel between us and mainland Europe. I think it must be a lot harder for a place like France, especially as this seems to have been thought up in Belgium and there is nothing to stop them coming over the border and carrying out the attack in Paris. It is very difficult and there must be a mixture of luck and excellent security work, and even then you can still fail to stop these attacks.
  8. At least Remi has had a couple of weeks to look at the merits of the candidates. Whilst a lot of them are a bit pony, we do actually have a number of options. I'm hoping that Crespo could be our saviour.
  9. It's been done earlier in the thread, that in France the police can stop and ask anyone for ID so it's better for anyone preparing a terrorist attack to carry it with them to avoid suspicion on the off chance they get stopped. Hence why they have passports on them.
  10. At least one of the bombers at the Stade de France is confirmed to have come through Turkey and Greece a couple of months ago as a refugee. I should think it's likely that it's been a mixture of the two, with one French-Algerian family being particularly involved. Whether they'd all met up in Syria to coordinate and plan I guess is still to be confirmed.
  11. The problem, like it or not, is that the refugee crisis makes it a lot easier to get people trained in Syria over to Europe. We are relatively lucky in that we have a bit of water between us and the mainland and seem to have a decent idea of how to stop potentially dangerous people coming back from Syria. The fact that only one successful attempt has happened shouldn't make us complacent as I would be extremely surprised if this isn't repeated elsewhere within a year.
  12. These smugglers need to pull their fingers out and bring over someone with a decent left peg. I'd say they should have a decent beard as well but I'm not sure I'd trust them.
  13. Not sure it's the right club to go to, unless there is a change in ownership in the pipeline, but good luck to him.
  14. I looked like a baked bean in my old passport. Proper weird, getting a new passport was probably my highlight of 2014. I'm much happier with my new one, though I've grown a beard since I last went away.
  15. I don't think even UKIP says we should stop migrant workers coming over to work in the NHS, or where there is a skill shortage.
  16. I don't think anyone thinks Britain is literally full, but there is a strain on things like the NHS and other public services that adding a new city's worth of population each year, before you count in refugees, won't help. Personally I think our approach to the refugee crisis has been the best one, and all countries should put more money into the camps outside Syria, as I suggested yesterday. There are still people vulnerable within those camps though, and we need to give them priority, and we can do proper checks on them. We can also control the numbers. The key is having control.
  17. Could really do with God or Allah coming out of the sky and telling everyone to calm the **** down. The only other solution I can think of is to pour money into the refugee camps around Syria to create new towns and cities where kids can get a proper education and protect them with our troops. Over 100 years I'd hope religion could be educated out of people altogether, like it nearly has over here. You'd have to put up with the murder in the meantime though.
  18. I think I'm in love with Katie Derham. How Anton DuBeke dances with her without getting a boner I'll never know. And yes, I enjoy Strictly Come Dancing perhaps more than I should.
  19. Business as usual, as it should be IMO.
  20. I was on a trip to the Yosemite and one of the Texans on the minibus asked if we have trees in England. I thought their stupidity was just a stereotypical thing.
  21. I do like a good 9 hours. I'd rather go to sleep than stay up and watch shite on TV, but I'm a baker and have to do some stupid early starts so have to get sleep when I can.
  22. Yeah sorry, poor choice of words (as was using 'rocket polishers'). Just so, so sad.
  23. Feel sick waking up to this. Bunch of rocket polishers. Almost impossible to stop this kind of thing really, just hope the death toll doesn't rise too high.
  24. I thought he and Ancelotti made a great team at Chelsea, but now I'm just left trying to work out how Carlo ever won the league with that idiot as his assistant. Makes me like him even more as a manager.
