  1. Depends if they stay up, which is looking a bit dicey. I wonder whether he's a Wenger-type forward and if he could end up there. I just hope he stays and helps us give it a go for at least the first half of next season to help us come back up.
  2. Basically when my old man said, 'How about supporting the Villa?'. Seriously though I think MON walking out on the eve of the season was the catalyst then it's just got worse and worse.
  3. They have a better understanding of what Kozak's fitness is like than we do, so I'm not one to have a go at Garde for not picking him, as useless as Gestede is (similar with Ilori, last night it was obvious why he hadn't got any action with us). Hopefully we can get someone proper in to play with Ayew.
  4. O'Neill managed to quit and still get the money off us. I'm surprised more people haven't tried it tbh.
  5. Me too, if you change the word 'important' for 'serious' then it makes more sense
  6. Me too, he scored the goal and went to talk to the angry fans. I think he started the season well but has gone backwards along with the results. In the videos on AVTV he looks like the heart and soul of the dressing room as well.
  7. Am I so wrong in thinking that if we held on at Leicester we'd not be in this mess? I guess it would have meant sticking with Sherwood for longer and that would just paper over the cracks, as his and Wilkins' inability to integrate the new players properly is a huge part of the hole we are in. Either way I hope Garde gets first crack at getting us back up, assuming he isn't totally defeated like Lambert was by the end.
  8. Some scumbag at work today had pissed in a rubber johnny so that it was as big as a balloon and left it next to the toilet on the floor. I almost trod on it when I went for a dump and could quite easily have got a piss-soaked leg. Who hates their job and other people that much?
  9. To be fair to Moyes I reckon he provided a better balance and signed some talented attacking players at Everton. He was very rarely wasteful in the transfer market. I agree with you in general though, Garde is here as a long term manager but whether the club, the players, the fans and himself can completely knock the stuffing out of him before the summer I'm not sure.
  10. I suspect that they're probably the kind that act like that even when we're 2-0 up. You know the ones that just go to the football to abuse people as a hobby. Even as shit as we are, it isn't going to help at all and nobody really deserves abuse like that.
  11. Yep fitness looks to be a huge issue for the lad. Who knows, there could be a decent player there, but he needs to get and stay on the pitch.
  12. Lotto jackpot up to £57m. Putting an extra 10 numbers in the draw has worked a treat, nobody wins the fecking thing, all for double the price of an old ticket. Still, at least I won a free lucky dip for getting two numbers the other day, that makes it worth all the changes.
  13. A lot of them have gone bust and then bought on the cheap and slowly rebuilt in the time Randy has been here. While they're currently better off, we haven't quite sunk to their lowest points (yet!).
  14. I got Better Call Saul on DVD for Christmas, he's such a great character but the series seems to be quite slow in getting anywhere really. Still has plenty of enjoyable moments though.
  15. I saw Saints play Stoke as my brother is a fan, and Wanyama looked like their best player on the day. They did look like they'd gone a bit stale but I'm pretty sure it's just a blip. If they have to sell Wanyama and Mane so be it, they should get profit and they'll probably just add themselves to the list of players who have gone on to do nothing since leaving. I guess the key for Southampton is whether they can continue with their ridiculously good youth development.
  16. I saw a discussion about it on the news yesterday and only those who can afford it would have to pay, but to enforce the rule sounds like it would wipe out a fair chunk of the money they raise anyway. I can understand fining people who don't turn up and wasting time (though I suspect missed appointments actually aid the smooth running of surgeries anyway in terms of reducing delays).
  17. Guardiola's football has always been great except for his last season at Barca, where he seemed to be intent on producing the perfect tikitaka team with 10 midfielders in it plus Valdes. Everything just got so slow and quite often the passing lost its purpose. It will be interesting to see how he fares over here.
  18. I thought at one stage they were going to make it mandatory to have relegation wage cuts in all players' contracts. It certainly makes sense to me to have them.
  19. Generally with these things I stop and think about it for a few seconds, and then think to myself 'oh piss off and get over yourselves'
  20. I'm a huge BRMC fan, I reckon if they were British they'd be BIG. Always seem to write great singles, despite them never getting much airplay or sales. plus Leah Shapiro!
  21. That's fair enough, but I don't see why Garde can't put a spine back into the team himself. Whoever took over from Sherwood would have had to muddle through to the window with a dodgy keeper, poor centre halves, no left back, a lightweight midfield, a useless lump up front and some project players with shattered confidence. We need to wait and see what we can bring in during the window and if things can improve as a result.
  22. I still think we'd get sick of Allardyce or Pulis pretty quick. It's perhaps unfortunate that Moyes didn't get sacked for another couple of weeks as he'd be a lot more palatable than them. It wouldn't hide the fact that there is something rotten at the core that the aftermath of the Leicester shambles exacerbated, however. Hopefully Remi can pull off a few miracles in the transfer market and we can gather at least a bit of damage limitation.
  23. He's still only a teenager, for anyone to write him off as never going to be this or that is just plain wrong. How many 19 year olds have what he has? He can be whatever he wants to be. I just hope he stays and develops at the Villa, even if we get relegated. In fact a season as first-team regular in the Championship might be the best development for him.
