  1. The whole thing is just weird. Must be some ridiculous money being thrown at Vince for this.
  2. What struck me about Barca the other night is how clueless they were and just resorted to hoofing it up the pitch in the second half. Completely lost the plot. I have to say Messi has carried the team in La Liga and they've not been under any pressure from Real either. As for City I think this season they have been as good as any Utd or Arsenal team from the PL era and if they finish the season without stuttering any more then they'll probably have been the best I've seen.
  3. I think Southampton did their own kits for quite a while. I wouldn't mind us doing it someway or another as long as it looks claret and blue.
  4. If we get promoted then I think I'd just stick with Bruce, possibly with Terry involved in a coaching capacity. You'd hope the Dr will be able to give Bruce a decent transfer kitty if we do go up so as long as we spent it wisely, we could get a safe mid-table finish under Bruce. Then push on from there with a high calibre manager.
  5. The last few episodes of Designated Survivor have had made up names for countries that are basically North and South Korea. I don't know why programmes can't just use the real names, is Kim Jung Un really going to blow us all up because of it?
  6. If I remember right it goes back to when the West Indies had a left arm leg spinner called Achong, and one of the English batsmen said 'I can't believe I got out to a Chinaman' or something along those lines. It probably is time to ditch the term, though I doubt any Chinese people will care either way.
  7. I've watched bits and pieces and the mixed tag match looked the best match of the night. Really surprised how good Stephanie was, and I now get the hype about Rhonda Rousey. Great to see Kurt back wrestling too, he's probably my all time favourite along with Jericho.
  8. I've been very slowly making my way through it. Good but definitely not something I can binge watch.
  9. Deserved a red for his reaction though. Should have been more pissed off at his defenders.
  10. The problem is leaving the striker in his own in the six yard box, it was virtually impossible for the defender to actually get the ball coming from behind.
  11. Top corner, quality penalty. Not sure about the decision mind you.
  12. Come on Cristiano blast it over the bar
  13. Series 4 is the best other than the first one, the way it builds up after halfway is fantastic. I had to give up after a couple of episodes of the latest series but may go back to it when I'm in the mood.
  14. I'm guessing he will be running for President in the not too distant future.
  15. Someone nearly drowned the only time I've been snorkelling too. I thought it was just a one off thing but clearly there's always one. Some old fellar had drunk too many rum punches and luckily there was a St Lucian lad trying to sell us conches from a canoe who jumped in and saved him.
  16. Could be one of our most important victories of the season if it means Fulham can overtake Cardiff. I'd much rather play this lot.
  17. Both CL games have started off like humdingers.
  18. It's the fees that piss me off about tickets. I'm buying tickets, you're selling me the tickets, it should be pretty straight forward.
  19. I think it was pretty reasonable for a capital city, certainly a lot cheaper than Stockholm and probably London.
  20. Perhaps not stupid, but really **** nasty, especially Assad. I'm not sure evil bastard dictators always need any potential tactical or strategic gain to kill loads of people, just pure spite.
  21. Rory McIlroy is just one of those people I have a totally irrational dislike for. I couldn't even begin to tell you why as I'm not all that arsed about golf.
  22. We did the usual stuff, go up St Stephen's, round Mozart's house, the big palace thing, museums and other sightseeing. Most of it was in and around the city centre from what i remember. Food-wise you can get wienerschnitzel or goulash in pretty much any restaurant but I had it once in a place called the Black Camel near the posh designer shops and that was enough. I'm not a great fan of Germanic food. Then there is a supposedly old and famous restaurant called Cafe Landtmann near the parliament which did some nice other food as well as the classics. Our best meal was in the hotel. Overall I really liked the city. I was in Berlin last week and reckon I preferred Vienna but then Berlin has a much harsher history and still recovering imo.
  23. She/he won the jackpot with Sally Phillips but was giving it to some snowboarding charity rather than buying a shitload of Lego bricks. I think that seals it. Or does it? I'm confusing myself now.
  24. Quite. A bit like comparing the two at Barcelona.
