  1. Getting so infuriated now with Tottenham, got quite a few mates who are spuds fans and they like the posters on here all are the same, think Bale is worth 130mil or whatever Levy is mouthing off about if Real want him but think Beneteke is max only worth 15mil as he could be a one season wonder. as someone said above 30-35mil or just do one.... how many great seasons has Bale had now, 3? Fair dues he has proven he is world class and Benteke has had one amazing season... so way I see it is when being compared to Bale we can divide Bales value by 3 great seasons to value Bentekes worth to Tottenham with him so far having had one great season = about 43 mil
  2. Could have said the same for Benteke and Villa promotion.
  3. no thanks and can't see it happening.
  4. Dunno but i dont think grant holts transfer to wigan has gone through yet. Joke
  5. Gutted. hope he goes to a champs league club, that would at least show he has ambition, if he ends up at Spuds or liverpool then he's let himself down... Another season like last at villa and a good world cup he'd have the pick of any club. Cheers for helping keep us up Christian, hoping he's off to Dortmand but now have a nasty feeling he'll be at tottenham next year
  6. Lowton going nowhere, was sat/stood next to his uncle at Norwich away match and got chatting, apparently he loves it at Villa, loves working under Lambert, family settled and is here long term apparently. Whilst great to hear that it's not his uncles choice. If I'm Matty Lowton and Arsenal come knocking, I know what I would do. I'd fancy my chances. Not that I think he'd kick up a stink, not in the slightest, but if the club were to accept. Appreicate what you are saying doug, and anything is possible in football but i think compared to a lot of modern day footballers Lowton doesnt have the vibe of someone who will jump at the first sniff of big bucks. Just the impression i get.

  8. Oh ok cheers, sounded like it reading some of that man city forum thread
  9. Sorry if i missed something but has he been officially released from villa then?
  10. Agree on the away, but I can't really see what's busy about the home shirt. Home not so bad, just not into the collar. Macron need to employ some of the VT mock designers, some of the designs earlier in this thread were much better.
  11. Not a fan of either kit really, far to busy for my liking, much prefer the simpler designs of Nike in the McLeish season. Still at least no sign of claret shorts.
  12. Wasn't expecting much else tbh... I reckon it would be nice to have acorns on the back beneath the player number, like some lower league and euro teams have. i think Villa's association with Acorns is great and ideally would have them on the front of the shirt every time but finances dictate so it is no surprise we have ended up with another gambling company.
  13. Be great to get this guy by the looks of that vid, love the way he can tackle and use the ball, great feet for a centre back. Get it done Paul.
  14. Hope we can get this guy in, sounds very promising. As MagicMushroom says we'll need to give him time to settle in but would be a great signing i think, would like to see Cresswell as well.
  15. Will be very happy if this summer Villa have no dealings with Spurs, Man City or Liverpool. Would hate to see Benteke at any of them and dont want any players from them.
  16. Seems to me he thinks he's better than he actually is. Happy to see him move on, technically very poor.
  17. Interview seemed a bit like he was trying tout himself for a next club to me. Villa very much better off without him, calamity player.
  18. agree couldn't be any worse under someone else but at the same time with this current team and the lack of support from the board i cant see us being any better who ever would take Lambert's place, Alex Ferguson, Mourinho and Pep I honestly don't think could do any better with this lot.
  19. was going to type something but just can't sum up my thoughts, completely bemused - this great club is dying a very slow plainful death.
  20. it just amazes me that someone so wealthy and who has already pretty much reduced one sporting institution (the Browns) to a no mark team can manage do it again and seemingly not learn any lessons. Unbelievable really. more money than sense springs to mind.
  21. Ron Vlaar - good solid player, like someone previously said maybe not a top 6 player but good enough for most PL clubs outside that top bunch. Credit where credit is due he made a mistake last night but he owned up immediately and showed passion and leadership on the field and in his interview a care for the club I haven't seen from any other player in recent times. Respect to you Ron, hope he's still here if we drop.
  22. CI has it would seem had an ongoing grudge but what he says above is right, SI was outfought and out tackled outwitted and out passed by 4th division players, he had a couple of moments but nothing was far from amazing, good even. If people are happy to keep Ireland then they should be happy to keep Lambert and all his signings because they have made far more effort and been better players on the whole this season. Wanted Ireland to do well here but just tom many "maybe now he will start playing" moments and zero sustained quality performances.
  23. likewise, just don't think its worth "starting again" - who we going to get better than Lambert if we drop? No one. Who are we going to get not better than lambert, few options there but not anyone I'd want over PL, also I can't face another season of "a new dawn" or welcoming in a new era of "Di Matteo's Donkeys", "Adkins a holes" or "Curbishly's words removed"
