  1. see ya James, welcome Ron - good bit of business all round I reckon
  2. ah yeh nice one SikhInTrinity, my mistake... still i wouldn't mind seeing Ba at Villa, apparently he wants to stay in Prem and has a clause in his contract that he can go to another prem team for 7 mil or more, around that price I'd say he would be as good value if not better than Fletcher (not saying Fletcher not a good player just over valued at +10 mil).
  3. Thinking about Gazton's teaser info about his mate being excited by a striker we are trying to sign I am trying to think a bit out of the box and found myself thinking maybe we might be looking at Ba from Newcastle? PLayed with SI when he was on loan up there and the sort of player that would be exciting. Also if Carroll did end up back there maybe Ba would feel he's better off elsewhere getting more guaranteed 1st team football. Just a thought.
  4. Think its an easy link to us and maybe contact was made but that may only mean we called and asked how much, hopefully our reaction was "what, 10-15 mill? F**k off, bye" - don't see this as the sort of deal or money PL would spend on an ok brit striker, no thanks.
  5. Marcus Evans will have the final say if Aston Villa do table a bid for Ipswich Town’s Aaron Cresswell From the local footy rag in Ipswich, reads like their chief executive is basically saying they are ready to sell for the right (or an overinflated) price.
  6. the sun reporting he may be a target for west ham... No quotes or anything but still nice to see a bit of speculation linking more than one club now. WEST HAM want James Collins back Sunderland or West Ham, don't care, please someone just buy him.
  7. not sure what to think about Andy Carrol.. Maybe he could be a good foil for Bent and maybe they could be quite a lethal front line, not sure. Bit concerned about his attitude and head state but then I think we do have the sort of manager to get inside players heads as PL seems to be very good at. Would be a bit concerned at his wages but then maybe the fact he is just started getting into the England squad and also wanting to prove his doubters at Liverplop wrong, maybe he might work here. I wouldn't want to see him on any more than our top earner (Bent I presume), maybe less with a bonus scheme in place, more he scores/assists, more he gets per week? Undecided
  8. Owen - please no... way past his best and looking for a final big paycheque contract. Was listening to talkshite the other day and that Adrian bloke who does the show with Darren Gough said Owen doesn't want to play for a club lower than premier league level, he then went on to slate Owen about how up him self he is dismissing the Championship and thinking he is to good for it, I agree with him (for the first time ever), Owen is now not much more than a Championship level player now (not saying Chapionship is poor though) and would be far to much of a risk for us in terms or whether he'll stay fit and if he would evan score enough to justify he wages.
  9. I thought Wesley sneijder was rubbish at the euros also. yeh, along with RVP, Robben and pretty much the whole squad. Not going to judge him on the Euros and think if Lambert sees something in him then chances are he's an ok player, deal sounds good value at 4/5 mil for a dutch international and he cannot be any worse than Colins or Dunne (did you see Dunne at Euros? how good was he?)
  10. this, please keep all speculation coming, makes work a lot more interesting.
  11. Sorry Julie, but i think he is terrible and cant wait to see the back of him. Woeful defender. this
  12. was wondering what the point of those catapult bib things were, cheers.
  13. ref Hutton, just speculating but just noticed on the OS when looking at the training pics that if you click on the "choose another gallery" drop down menu above the gallery if you click on the Hutton 2012 profile one it links to an invalid/expired page, all the others before that seem to work and if you go to the "image galleries" page directly from the news tab the Hutton gallery isn't evan listed there. Maybe me being too hopeful but maybe Hutton is gone/going soon?
  14. hmmm being a resident of the fine city of Norwich myself I seem to remember Norwich fans treating a certain Brian Gunn similarly as to how we were with Mcleish. Gunn was a Canaries legend yet you lot still gave him what for. Fair dues Mcleish never had it easy coming from the other place but that was never the main issue, he was given a chance by the majority, his poor tactics, signings and shocking football was the problem. Thats what happens in football, don't try and label Villa fans as any less patient or less forgiving than others, think you'll find fans of all clubs would be the same in the circumstances of those two managers.
  15. unfortunately Warnock is in the pics on the OS ut yeh couldn't see hutton and Jean2, that made me wonder.
  16. Naughton right back, Poulsen left back... sounds better than Hutton and Warnock.
  17. Fixed for you. Delia does make some nice pies as well so its probably harsh to say PL was their only asset
  18. this. good move, like the way he's thinking already.
  19. and are we gonna have white shorts... please no claret shorts can't stand that, dunno why, but just can't, has to be white shorts for me. Were I emperor of the world, I would decree: "The below the waist portion of a sporting uniform should never be the same color as the torso portion, at least for sports played on rectangular patches of grass or grass substitute." One common thread in many athletic aesthetic disasters is violating this proposed rule.
  20. what about blue shorts i always prefered claret top blue shorts claret socks - i am not down with the white shorts fair dues, I could live with clue shorts but would prefer white
  21. and are we gonna have white shorts... please no claret shorts can't stand that, dunno why, but just can't, has to be white shorts for me.
  22. will wait to see it confirmed by Nch or confirmed by Villa that they are coming here.
  23. would like to see him at least given another chance. I can understand why some don't rate him based on his performances for Villa but I have a sneaking suspicion PL might be able to get more out of him.... He never got a chance to settle under GH and for all we know "he who shall not be named" may have ordered him to play in a style that he couldn't at all play, a style completely alien to him, he wouldn't be the first player to have that put on him. Hope he can become a useful member of the squad, Lambert is known not to be scared of completely changing tactics, team and shape for different matches and evan during matches, Makoun might just be needed in that case, football I think is all about versatile squads and adaptive tactics these days, our new manager I get the impression is championing this as opposed the last manager who was stuck in the late 70s!
