  1. SI is everything that is wrong with modern day football. If he stays at Villa then I hope he is a success and shows us this amazing talent people keep saying he's got, however, I will still think he is a complete word removed and hope he gets moved on asap.
  2. I hear what you are saying and would feel let down by Downing as well if he goes but I would feel more let down and angry with the board who would have let this happen, the managerial fiasco would have made downing have serious doubts about Villa's future and the boards ambition. If they had got a manager in place faster and of better pedigree maybe he might have been more interested in staying. DB won't be here long the way this is going. He must be thinking what the f*** have I signed up for?
  3. Amazing, the only manager who would have managed to make it into minus votes on the poll at the top of this topic is getting the job. Unbelievable. Wake up anyone who thinks Randy and the board still give a shit about the fans, history and tradition of AV.
  4. Just checked in to see if there have been any developments. As things stand at the moment and reading bits of the media I just can't believe how (if true) backward the condition of Prem League experience is. Flores agent is quoted as saying he is up for Villa job evan if he is not top of their list, if the board want to build long term and if we ever want to be the "english barca" as I've seen mentioned previously then the board need to wake up. Fair enough I can see the reasoning for a safe pair of hands but if we are to believe the constant rhetoric of "ambition" that we get told about from the club then appointing AM is defiantly about as far away as as we could be at this moment. Jose M, Wenger and Ancilotti never needed Prem experience. I might be over reacting but right now we don't seem far away from becoming the next Newcastle
  5. Bang on... Although GH maDe some pretty big f*** ups I still felt he had a long term plan and was intrigued to see how we would progress under him. There is no way we could have continued with him, can't risk a persons life for a job but right now I would welcome him back without a second thought. Mcleish is wrong in every way for Aston Villa. If he gets appointed then we can not believe anything the board say anymore, can't believe I'm saying this but i feel a bit sorry for Schteve M if part of the reason for him not getting the job was a backlash from fans, if McLeish gets the job then whole thing stinks, a massive F**** u to the fans PLEASE RANDY DO NOT DO THIS!
  6. i also believe this is the case That would be great but I fear the worst... Can't believe how many people seem to be coming round to the idea of Rafa B. GH had his faults and made his obvious f**kups but if it was between him staying on, Rafa or Steve M I'd want GH everytime. Hoping and praying we in talks with Moyes.
  7. No thanks... No failures but not much to shout about either. Excellent at wales and blackburn, shafted at city when he could have got them 4th. First season back and he has a fine season with fulham. He's a manager on the up in my opinion. I can't see him not getting strong backing from fans if appointed. I'd be cautious about Moyes, been at one club for so long hard to know I'd he could match that if he came here. Hughes would be the better option in my opinion. Fair enough, just never been that inspired by any of Hugh's teams really, would agree he did very well with Wales though.
  8. for me I'd like either Ancelotti (as long as he's in it for the long term and not just looking for a club to tide him over for a while, we need stability) or Moyes.
  9. No thanks... No failures but not much to shout about either.
  10. was a good player for one season, fair enough to him, he had a good 12 months alongside Robinho and other very good players. As far as I am concerned sooner he does one the better. He never seemed that keen on joining in the first place and since he has joined he has never produced this apparent talent in a Villa shirt.
  11. Please please please can we stop any mention of Fat Sam.. Hoofball style, over inflated sense of self and generally would be a side step at best in terms of Villa rebuilding into a top of the table team... Moyes or maybe Jol, preferably Moyes.
  12. is petrov playing, on my stream i don't think i've seen him! Makoun seems to be our ony CM at the mo
  13. yeh liking the way Makoun looks comfortable with the ball - just need a few of the others to calm down and get it together
  14. Well pleased at this, please Randy get it done asap! Great to see so many Villa fans so happy and credit to everyone who has doubted Randy (me included) and now credited him with the passion we all hoped he had. Getting a bit annoyed with reading stories in the national medias about "is Bent worth the money?"... if it was Tottenham signing Andy Carol for this much then they wouldn't be saying that they would just be bloating on about how he will progress so much more at spurs and how he can make a true name for himself there and how its money well spent, future England star etc. Well bollox to that, Bent is a proven goal scorer (evan at spurs where some would have us believe he failed) and there is no more expensive commodity in football than a striker that scores. I think given the position we are in, the current money that players go for (thanks to Man Shitty) and the fact that Bent has always scored where ever he gone, I think up to 24 mill is acceptable. We've needed this sort of signing for years, I think the lift and belief it will give the whole club and fans is worth a few mill in itself.
  15. I've been prepared to give GH a chance and was hoping that we may have turned a corner at Chelski. Unfortunately I think reality must now hit and his time is up. I don't think GH is alone in deserving criticism, MON leaving us in the shit was the start, the board not being ruthless enough to go for an employed manager, the players general lack of fight and passion and also I've never been comfortable with Gary Mac as assistant boss, Cov and Middlesborough were both pretty disastrous, what ever gave him the credentials to be Villa assistant boss? If we are to get rid of GH then I would hope for Jol, if not him then I dunno maybe give the job back to Kmac for the rest of the season (if he'd take it)... i appreciate what people are saying ref Big Sam sorting things out for survival but I just couldn't bare it if he were in charge, please not Big Sam! My choice other than Jol... Paul Lambert. Tough, passionate young manger who teams play good football with passion and strength, he's also got knowledge of the Chamionship if the worst does happen, take a chance on him, what have we got to loose?
