The_Rev
You should see the number of days spent in the relegation zone of League 2 this season. Bristol Rovers, who got relegated, spent a grand total of one day beneath the dreaded dotted line.
Xela
This will be the first year since being a professional footballer that Ryan Giggs hasn't scored a goal in. He made his debut in the 90-91 season.
The_Rev
Martin Skrtel was the only player to score against each of the top four clubs in the league this season. 1 vs Chelsea, 1 vs Manchester City, 2 vs Arsenal and 4 vs Liverpool.
Morley_crosses_to_Withe
Remember Anzi Makhachkala? The obscure Russian club who went on a huge spending spree and hired Gus Hiddink as boss. Their fall from grace is now complete: they have ended the season rock bottom of the Russian Premier League.
Voinjama
Landon Donovan has scored more world cup goals then Messi, Ronaldo, Van Persie, Rooney and Aguero put together. I suspect this will no longer be a fact in 1 months time though.
PompeyVillan
Italy are the only country at this year's world cup to not have an English based player.

Voinjama
In fact Russia reduced their squad down last night from 30 to 23 and Pogrebnyak was dropped, so they also have no English based player's.
The_Rev
Years of hurt: Time since last major trophy win. Premier League only because I'll be buggered if I am doing this for 92 clubs: Arsenal - 0 (2014 FA Cup) Aston Villa - 18 (1996 League Cup) Burnley - 54 (1960 League Championship) Chelsea - 1 (2013 Europa League) Crystal Palace - 109 (no major trophy wins) Everton - 19 (1995 FA Cup) Hull City - 110 (no major trophy wins) Leicester City - 14 (2000 League Cup) Liverpool - 2 (2012 League Cup) Manchester City - 0 (2014 League Championship) Manchester United - 1 (2013 League Championship) Newcastle United - 59* (1955 FA Cup) QPR - 47 (1967 League Cup) Southampton - 38 (1976 FA Cup) Stoke City - 44 (1972 League Cup) Sunderland - 41 (1973 FA Cup) Swansea City - 1 (2013 League Cup) Tottenham - 6 (2008 League Cup) West Brom - 46 (1968 FA Cup) West Ham - 34 (1980 FA Cup) * I'll be buggered if the Fairs Cup counts. Any competition which you qualify for by invitation is not a major competition. The Fairs Cup was a friendly tournament, UEFA didn't sanction it even though they used the trophy for the UEFA Cup and Europa League some years later.
Morley_crosses_to_Withe
Here's a question for another thread maybe, but: Would you prefer a history like ours, but to have never witnessed any of it and for that to carry on through your lifetime; or, a trophy less history but you get to witness one major cup win in your lifetime? If it's the cup then how low down the 'cup scale' would you go? Would it have to be something big or would you take the League Cup?
The_Rev
I'd take a league cup. I'd swap our history for Chelsea's too. Sure, we have won a lot more stuff but at least their fans get to see them win stuff.
