Jordan Bowery

Why? For all we know he is the new Drogba. He isnt going to be the captain or starting over Gabby, he'll likely be loaned out or get a few Capitol One Cup games... no harm. It's 600k! it's pocket change, It;s like 1/3 of the wage we were giving Heskey. Sign the lad up if Lambert wants him. Just needs to be one of a few players, if he's our big signing then I agree, we're ****. But as backup then im all for it.

If Villa sign Bowery from Chesterfield I'm guna stop watchin Mattie! Got to be paper talk! Not even good enough for league one #avfc

Matt Lowton's brother who is a Chesterfield fan, lets just say, he clearly doesn't rate this player.

We have top to trust PL, many clubs sign lower league players who turn out to be good and the top clubs end up paying big money for the same players a little later, its good that PL has the balls to go for these players, and realistically can we possibly say the PL signings havent improved the squad?

Look back at history and see how many of the Ron Saunders team were from top first division clubs, this is an exciting era and all will be well. Ofcourse Mr Lerner can help by backing a few top class players proven at this level. The problem is since MON left AVFC doest have the good standing that it did so proven top players may be reluctant to join is. The squad needs freshening up so we can lose the players that wont feature and replace them with PL signing that may feature

Alan Biggs reckons Bowery is strong, fast and has lots of potential.

However, also reckons Newcastle and Everton are in for him

Biggs is now a daily mail journalist but worked for BBC and formerly Sheffield Telegraph so well connected at Chesterfield
