In view of how blacks are voting over whelmingly for him I'm Surprised Obama doesn't appear to have won Mississippi ..

Doesn't it have a black majority population ?

Edit : just switched over to the BBC who seem to be using African American rather than Sky's "black"

Nope, whites are still the ethnic majority in Mississippi. Out of the 50 states, only Hawaii does not have a white ethnic majority...and DC, but that obviously does not count

Looks like all three statewide ballot questions will pass in Massachusetts:

Question 1: Right to Repair Law (would require automakers with dealers in the state to provide independent repair shops with the same diagnostic and repair information that dealers get): Yes - 84%, No - 16%

Question 2: Legalize Physician-Assisted Suicide: Yes - 51%, No - 49%

Question 3: Legalize Medical Marijuana: Yes - 63%, No - 37%

Warren off to an early lead, but the MetroWest suburbs that lean Brown have mostly not yet reported.

coming down to florida again isn't it?

BBC showed how many Romney would have to win to get past 270 , even with Ohio , Colorado ,Florida and Virginia hed still be short

But with 29 votes Florida is a biggie

Iirc at this point in time without Florida he can't feasibly win. To win without Florida he would need all the other swing states in his favour, which he can no longer do, do would require other states to swing which is not something you'd bank on.

If he loses Florida all he could do would be to let the lawyers off their leashes in reality.

Didn't Mitt Romney lose in Massachusetts? I imagine losing in the state where you are the governor must be pretty demoralizing!

He lost his home state (Michigan) as well...

Midnight EST right now, Romney refusing to concede...

4 more years of Obamarama then, marginally better than the alternative if you're not an American. I'd imagine the fallout from the Republicans is going to be bitter to say the least and that New Jersey Governor will be less than popular with his party after basically endorsing Obama.

Colorado and Washington state both voted to legalize recreational use of cannabis, Oregon surprisingly voted it down. Massachusetts voted for medical legalization and Physician Assisted Suicide...

Maine and Maryland voted for marriage equality. Good to see some progressive measures pass.

Superb news. Hopefully the end of the tea party also. Funny how cameron just praised his friend the same friend when he supported mcain? Great speech from obama in victory. Romney still seemed out of his depth right until the end
