Rodders
prefer no to loans, or if it is to be a loan, not a pl side, irritates me enough we won't keep the player if he's good, but moreso if its for a side in the same division.

samjp26
Why should we HAVE to loan players? A club of our stature should be able to bring in players permanently, we aren't a League One feeder club, I'm sure there are players out there that would like to play for a long-standing Premier League club. Big_John_10
**** loans. It's such small time short term thinking.

villan_007
Wages are still an issue, patience is the key as the club address the well documented issues. I totally disagree, and think they have mostly been resolved. We have Bent, Ireland, Dunne, Gabby left on big wages. If we are still struggling with that then there is no hope for us at all. VillanousOne
I think it is partially the case of whose players we are developing, maybe Manure and Mancity, Chelsea it would be easier to swallow but Spurs?? **** NO. their fans are the most arrogant unbearable bores of any fans I know and as I live in London I am surrounded by them, funnily enough Arsenal, Chelsea, Charlton, Fullham fans all seem to be realistic and level headed (with exceptions) Spurs fans have believed they were the Real Madrid of London long before their recent success and neverending funding stream. wildwood
Wages will always be an issue, sure now it's less of an issue - but that doesn't mean we have money to throw around. Yes it's frustrated not having press reports or good gossip, but that's the way Villa do things now, I wouldn't confuse that with them not trying, or get frustrated with them. I personally see every season individually, and so I don't mind about loans. I wouldn't mind if in the next 3 years, we loan 3 different strikers to support Bent and Gabby. Sometimes players who have a 3 or 4 year contract can be complacent, but with a one year loan - they have to give it their all. And I think PL would be able to pick some great players. How many times have we had a striker that doesn't do well for a year, and we wished they were on a one year deal instead of a three year deal? It would stop these issues with Heskey/Warnock etc.
CI
Our next set of accounts are likely to show another bumper loss Maybe not 54m but certainly it will be tens of millions again We have at least 2 more years of austerity to look forwards to IMHO
romavillan Posted August 10, 2012 VT Supporter Share Posted August 10, 2012 won't be anywhere even remotely close to 54m and will be a massive improvement. figures for this year will be an improvement again, hopefully tied to the fact that we get 5m+ more in prize money from the league and loads more in ticket sales as a base. plus paying a shedload, a metric fuckton, less in wages. AshVilla
Matt Jarvis anyone? All this talk about Financial Fair Play does it not apply to West Ham or something They have had a 9 mill bid turned down for Jarvis don't know where they are getting their money from i didn't think Porno Dwarf and Werewolf were that flush with the cash they only just got promoted as well Cannot believe wolves have turned that down 9 mill for an average winger glad were not in for him

If we're still a mess now how are we ever going to be competitive again. The money from the prem has gone up, merchandise deals have gone up, sponsorship deals have gone up and the wage bill has gone down. I can't believe our wages to revenue percentage is still out of control.

Folski
More than £21million for Jarvis & Fletcher, wow! Fair play to Wolves if they get that, it's about £7million too much IMO.
