Whilst likey wild & pure speculation, its the first news I've seen thats involved McLeish going and being replaced;

Villa Eye Summer Move for Spanish Boss

McLeish is also now favourite on the Daily Mail's weekly list of next Premier League manager to go. Press starting to take note a bit more now. Pile on the pressure. One can live in hope!

rubbish article why would Sunderland, WBA and Norwich be chasing him?

Eck needs a vid of Bilbao tonight sent to him with a message from all of us saying that how we all want Villa to play!!!

Nah....we don't need that. We play attacking football like the dutch and have shut outs like the americans.

I have a a question, and i hope this isn't going too off topic, but how long will this thread keep going??

What happens is Villa go out, draw usually, or lose, people post McLeish Out. If we win (the odd time) people say he should still go... This will go on and on until we get to the summer.. when we start speculating about who could replace him, only to find out he's staying for a while, and the whole process starts all over again. We're on page 557 and i'm sure a lot of those pages say the same stuff and im at the point where i don't look at the thread any more... would the moderators allow a thread to get to 1000 pages?

It's not the moderators fault. It's AM's fault. He makes everything bad, gives PACbuddies a digestive disorder, forces repetitive complaining, tells defenders to lose marks, tells forwards to shoot just wide, and just made me stub my toe.

Brilliant :D

I don't really get the point of that comment though. It's a thread about McLeish, good or bad. If you don't want to read it then don't read it.

Personally I find this thread quite therapuetic at the weekends as it allows me to vent my frustration in a controlled and dignified fashion. Without this thread there would be nowhere for me to unleash...apart from "specialist" websites that the wife would not approve of.

If we were in the relegation zone, then McLeish would be on the chopping block, there is no doubt about that.

But at present we are comfortably above it and it is extremely unlikely that we'll be dragged into it. So on the table, and points alone, McLeish is doing OK and keeping the club in the PL whilst the transitional period takes place.

My only concern is that things tend to go downhill once McLeish has had time and funds to bring his own players into the club.

Once it starts sliding he seems incapable (or unwilling) to change things/take chances, to turn it around.

I appreciate many managers in the PL play 4-5-1, but watching carefully, this often turns into 4-3-3 when attacking and 4-5-1 when the opposition has the ball.

With us, our midfield sits far too deep leaving the lone striker isolated instead of pushing up as a unit when we have the ball to pressure the opposition and support the lone striker. I just cannot fathom how McLeish expects us to win playing such a way.

Well it's probably complete BS but at least it's something positive!

The thread will go on as long as this useless manager is in charge, he will never be good enough to win us over.

Does the Spanish guy have any Premier League experience?

I agree with you Mantis, it is not OK. The football is atrocious and painful to watch. But on the table alone, we look comfortable on survival with a realistic chance of finishing mid-table - that is how Lerner will look at it.

IF (it is a big IF) we beat Fulham tomorrow and beat Bolton, we start to look upwards instead of down.

... IF (it is a big IF) we beat Fulham tomorrow and beat Bolton, we start to look upwards instead of down.

This is the Big Question. Failing to win against both these two will mean beating the current record of 8 matches at home without a win and will just vastly worsen the general atmosphere ... if it could get much worse.

Perhaps it's a case of all fans combining to will the team to win against Fulham tomorrow ... I think I've actually come to the point of agreeing that for the supporters to get behind the team no matter what is the only solution for the next 2 matches.

A digestive disorder you say! I can feel the shits coming on now just thinking about having to watch that dross again tomorrow.

barry bannan was on talk sport a while ago, he was asked a few different questions around the atmosphere and how things are different. bannan took ages to answer , you could tell he wanted to say what it is really like, he held his tongue in and said it was not much different than MON or GH. it was pretty obvious that he didnt mean what he was saying, you could almopst hear the 2 plumbs asking the questions chuckling, they obviously know that everything is going to shit and wanted to see if a young player would tell it how it is... bannan was trapped, his employers sent him on there so he could hardly say directly they are shit.

most players when happy with a clubs direction speak with enthusiasm, he did when talking about the start of his career but once it turn to the ginger buffoon his voice changed.

wheeling out the young players as a shield to deflect the blame now. classic.
