I have just watched Athletic Bilbao play more football in 90 minutes than all our players have produced for Eck this season (and anyone who has watched the match tonight will know I am not joking.)

Makes me wonder if the whole mindset at Villa and in England is wrong. Eck needs a vid of Bilbao tonight sent to him with a message from all of us saying that how we all want Villa to play!!!

I mean christ, even 25 per cent of the passing and movement that Athletic showed tonight would be a massive improvement on the dross that Villa fans are givin on a weekly basis :?

I have a a question, and i hope this isn't going too off topic, but how long will this thread keep going??

What happens is Villa go out, draw usually, or lose, people post McLeish Out. If we win (the odd time) people say he should still go... This will go on and on until we get to the summer.. when we start speculating about who could replace him, only to find out he's staying for a while, and the whole process starts all over again. We're on page 557 and i'm sure a lot of those pages say the same stuff and im at the point where i don't look at the thread any more... would the moderators allow a thread to get to 1000 pages?

cant blame Eck for that. e.g

Mikel San Jose can pass a football, James Collins cant.

Javi Martinez is a dynamic midfield maestro with a World Cup winners medal, we have Petrov who is fading and not very dynamic and in his defence our only experienced midfielder

For Villa to play like that they would need a 5 year rebuilding process with a whole new setup and probably have to suffer worse seasons trying to get a balance

Does anyone think that the board will act if we lose on Saturday? I just can't see him surviving it if we lost.

Not a chance will the board admit the mistake in appointing Big Eck. Not anytime soon anyway. He's here for another while yet I'd imagine. Very wishfully thinking on your part I think!

Whilst likey wild & pure speculation, its the first news I've seen thats involved McLeish going and being replaced;

Villa Eye Summer Move for Spanish Boss

McLeish is also now favourite on the Daily Mail's weekly list of next Premier League manager to go. Press starting to take note a bit more now. Pile on the pressure. One can live in hope!

If I was the manager I would add an hour on to daily training where the squad do nothing but watch Barcelona matches.. I'd also ask the players to emulate the clubs best players. Something needs to be done to eliminate the anti-football we play and it has to be done at a psychological level. Today Lichaj said he was studying Hutton to become a better player.. He should just study Daniel Alves.

You don't look at the thread anymore, yet you're still posting on it. Quite a skill you have there.

Hopefully it could be a successful as the last 5 yr plan.

:puke: Eck, what are you doing to our younger generation...! Get the Fonz studying Heskey, why don't you.

There is plenty to be learned from studying Alan Hutton's play. For instance: "Ah, so I shouldn't tackle the boards around the halfway line when the guy I'm supposed to be marking is in our box with the ball!"

It's not the moderators fault. It's AM's fault. He makes everything bad, gives PACbuddies a digestive disorder, forces repetitive complaining, tells defenders to lose marks, tells forwards to shoot just wide, and just made me stub my toe.

The PR machine starts to roll again and I fully expect all and sundry at the club appearing on the OS telling us fans what a wonderful manager AM, what a great player AH is and how EH is the best ever Premiership player!

They are really clutching at straws now!!!

Maybe Gabby's right we should get right behind McLeish. Lets spend the next match singing, '

Gabby Agbonlahor, he tracks back on the wing to cover the fullbacks.'

It doesn't have the same ring.

Or maybe we should write a series of McLiesh backing songs.

'For the love of God, hold on to that one-nil.'... or some songs about how happily we are looking forward to a draw.

i think this may be apt

score, score, once we get one we may draw

we used to be scoring

but now we are boring

draw villa draw

Is that to the tune of the lords song "dance there wherever you may be"

Draw, Draw, we're as boring as can be

We are the draw specialists you see

We'll lead you all, whoever you may be

But the end of the game, it'll be 3 - 3

Boyangel...

In the voice of Boss Nass... 'Me's a like-a-theeeesss.'

Well it's probably complete BS but at least it's something positive!

The thread will go on as long as this useless manager is in charge, he will never be good enough to win us over.

Hang on a minute... I seem to recall just a couple of weeks ago Gabby was saying that the players didn't really notice the stuff with the crowd, I wish I could find the quote.

Now on the eve of a home game in which McLeish is likely to get stick he says the complete opposite, something stinks about this.

Trent,

you are spot on... I was about to post something similar when I came across your post. I certainly remember it...

Gabby is having his strings pulled - don't be fooled.

I don't really care about being labelled as 'fickle' or as a disruptive influence any more (my boycott following the Swansea game is still in force BTW). Fans are forking out a lot of money (me included to finance my empty ST seat my lord) to get bored, frustrated and ruin their weekends... Why bother?

If it's because you 'love the club' fair enough. But I don't fall for blind love when I work so hard for my weekends off/annual leave, then pay out so much money to watch a match... But then see all the players and the manager et al creaming so much money week in and week out, that is obscene, then serving up such turgid, disinteresting pooh. I'm not enjoying it - so I don't go... Simples.

--

Grrrrrr, now I am wound up again.

Good luck to those plucky supporters willing to subject themselves to 90 minutes of backs to the wall shoddyness tomorrow. While I am killing Sith Lords, you will be cold, miserable and watching Andy Johnson and Clint do what they do best. I pity you and share your pain in advance.

Nah....we don't need that. We play attacking football like the dutch and have shut outs like the americans.
