Things you often Wonder

I have a friend (no, really), I have a friend that is paid really very well over in that europe to do Flemish / Welsh / Flemish translation.

He's one of these annoying people that can announce, I have to go to Portugal next month so I can't come out to play, I'm learning Portugese. Hey presto, a couple of weeks later he speaks Portugese.

I've consoled myself that he is one of these autistic spectrum types and gets very little sexy time.

If we had a thread where everyone posted nice things about each other...what would that be like? Would it make us   or

Or the other way round - an "anything goes" thread, where post-on-poster abuse is positively allowed? :)

Gone Fishin' for some 'Likes' there Mr Pints?

Haha :D Just trying to spread some love but I guess I'll shall keep my butter knife of compliments to myself.

I would never fish for likes.

On a completely unrelated note, anyone that doesn't click the like button on this particular comment supports Birmingham City and are only on this site as a wind up.

Why do cats like fish? It's not like their wild ancestors were natural predators of fish, given their dislike of water.

What's prompted you to wonder that?

Yes, that's another one.

Here's the best answer I could find 'Smarty-(Pull your pants down and do a)Mooney' and no that wasn't a request.

Domestic cats are descended from the African wildcat (NOT big cats like lions!). Fish are not a natural part of this animal's diet, but that doesn't mean it wouldn't eat a dead fish if it came across one and was hungry. Domestic cats that have been offered fish by humans have tried it and found they liked it. They may eat all kinds of things that they would never encounter in a natural state, such as cheese.

Besides which, not all cats hate water. Tigers, jaguars and fishing cats all love water. Even some domestic cats like water - the Turkish Van breed is famous for this trait.

Here's a tiger enjoying a dip:

Here's a jaguar:

Yeah, I know all that. But as it says "Fish are not a natural part of this animal's diet, but that doesn't mean it wouldn't eat a dead fish if it came across one".

Yet ten out of ten cats, when asked, named fish as their favouritest thing evah.

It's true about cheese though - and you couldn't really claim that cheese was naturally part of homo sapiens' diet!

I shall revert to wondering why I wondered it, as requested.
