How far is your daily commute?

Just a curiosity really, how far is the average VTers commute? Probably only for those in full time work as those in education tend to have very short journeys to make.

I live in Nuneaton and have worked in Birmingham for nine years, door to door is currently 18.5 miles. I see countless people who commute more than 120 miles a day from Birmingham to London though. So, what is typical?

At the moment it's 42 miles. I live in Daventry, Northamptonshire but work on Fazeley Street in Digbeth. I plan to move to Birmingham in Jan/Feb though.

Over the summer (and hopefully from next year too) 21/22 miles depending on the route I took.

Well not me anymore. My family though, Mom is around 10 miles to work. My Dad owns a hotel and lives within so basically works from home, while my Mom's BF works in Wigan so travels up there for couple days and then comes back.

15 miles for me. 14 miles of that is over the mountain road with no speed limit, so as long as I don't get stuck behind a bus it doesn't usually take me very long.

I'm near enough bang on 25 miles away from work. Doesn't take too long as its mostly A roads.

Maybe 2 miles from work at the most. Takes about 5 mins in the car.

About 20 miles one way for me, Macclesfield to Old Trafford.

Takes about half an hour in the morning, and 45 minutes on the way home, which is not too bad at all.

I went for option 1 as I often walk in when I'm not taking the kids to school

My commute (Great Barr to Birmingham City Centre) measures at 6.94 miles. As it's above 5 miles, I've selected the next option - That being under 10 miles.

Morning journey in is easy, as leave the house around 6.40am and sitting at my desk reading VT before 7am.

Getting home is a little more difficult, as leave around 4.20pm, and arrive home just before 5pm

It used to be about 2 hours door to door. Now its about 15 minutes. West Hampstead to Baker Street.
