DiegoD Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 I hate when players are asked to play injured, if they aren't 100% and its clearly making them play worse surely it must be better to just rest them a fews. Its even worse when the backup player is just as good. CC and Collins would be a top pairing in the Premier league, its a Kmac is tactically inept.
Ponky Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 I think Cuellar has been behind the 8-ball being injured during pre-season so it's probably more a case of not trusting his match-fitness. I reckon he'll play against Blackburn instead. I am hopeing this match will be Ireland's chance to announce himself and although it's KM in charge don't forget Houllier will be in the stands. i suspect the players will be busting their arses to show him what they are about. Villa by a cricket score.
Maradona10 Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 Should win, but think it'll be a scrappy affair and not win by a massive margin, the drill from Coyle will be you have been spanked at VP for 3 years on the trot.
Maradona10 Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 Oh and Kevin Davies will play, Coyle has said its up to Davies and he is one of those committed players.
jeckell Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 We normally do preety good against Bolton, but I don't care if it's a scrappy 1-0 goal off the back of warnocks arse, as long as we get all 3 points!
Mantis Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 Home defeat Think we'll beat them fairly easily with Gabby and Young to get on the scoresheet.
Richard Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 Glad you find the thought of a home defeat funny.
ED Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 Ash has scored in his last 4 v Bolton, worth a punt anytime
Condimentalist Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 First game of the season for me. I'm going to go for 2-1 Villa.
brady08 Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 After scoring a hat trick last night you would persume Bannon should be involved at some stage in this one now. Hopefually a repeat of last season home performances against Bolton and Coyle
Maradona10 Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 We only defeated Coyle 1-0 at the Reebok and we drew at Burnley, his first visit to VP as manager i believe.
villa89 Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 Given the injuries Bolton have I expect a decent home win.
johndunse Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 Bolton at home has been a good fixture for us the last few years - a nice 2 or 3-0 for us I think.
Rob182 Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 We only defeated Coyle 1-0 at the Reebok and we drew at Burnley, his first visit to VP as manager i believe. Was Coyle not managing Burnley when we beat them 5-1/ 5-2 ? I think that's what the previous poster meant..
paulanddonya Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 Well we should be a) bouyed with the new manager starting work monday and players wanting to show what they can do. Smarting after the defeat and manner of it, at Stoke They should be a) Depleted with jaskalainen and Cahill out In a transition faze , trying to play more football and not just lump it up to Davies. So, gotta be only one result - loss !!! Only kidding, I am expecting a comfortable win, maybe 3-0 - very very distraguht if we don't beat a depleted Bolton at home !

Although not beating Bolton at home will be very disappointing, it's hardly depleted squad having two players out!
theboyangel Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 I think Kevin Davies is a doubt with concussion (but will no doubt play!) and understand Tamir Cohen won't feature as it's the Jewish day of Yom Kippur. BBC reports Samuel, Sean Davis, Gardner and O'Brien also out or doubtful.... Sounds pretty depleted to me!!!
chappy Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 hopefully will be able to get a stream to work now im out in germany with a dodgy internet connection. i've had a punt on ash first gs e/w, and us to score 4 or more.
Hanky Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 Although not beating Bolton at home will be very disappointing, it's hardly depleted squad having two players out! It was 'depleted Bolton'. Which is true as they are two of their best players.
