  1. Looks like Gabby and Ireland are going to be fit with Dunne out ( expected back against spurs next week)
  2. After scoring a hat trick last night you would persume Bannon should be involved at some stage in this one now. Hopefually a repeat of last season home performances against Bolton and Coyle
  3. Very promising for Villa, when a young player produces a performance like this. The kid looks like he has serious potential and I am sure will be involved more regualrly in the first team squad this season. Building a very good young side at villa at the moment and when delph comes back that is another exciting prospect.
  4. Ya would go with the same team as above. Think time to try Ireland in the hole and Ash back on the wing. If Davies is out, thats a big plus for us especially with Jussi and Cahill out as well. He might not be a great footballer Davies but he is there plan A and thats 2 of their best headers and a keeper out for this game. Might throw a few quid on Collins or Dunne for first scorer now !
  5. We actually played quiet well away to Stoke, people seem to only remember the result ( which is fair enough) but I thought especially at the end of the first half, it was some of the best football we played in a long time. Need a win this weekend. Bring Ireland in to add a bit more in the attacking third. Tough run of fixtures coming up so need these points on the board Prediction 2-0: Gabby and Ireland
  6. Hamann was on Irish tv during the world cup and if you could understand his half german half scoucer accent he came across as a lad with a lot of knowledge of the game. Think he would be a great asset and hopefually we could get him in somewhere down the line. While McAllister hasnt a great managers record, its a whole new ball game as a Assistant Manager. Think he would do a good job also. Just lets get it sorted soon
  7. Be very surprised if he drops Luke Young. While we didnt have a great team performance against Everton, we had a good defensive one and dropping the lad would be extremely harsh after his last game. Rotation should not matter as any internationals wont have play for at least 6 days and people like Young havent played in 2 wks. Rotation should only kick in later in the season not 4 league games in. Id leave Ireland on the bench and hopefually bring him on with 25 to go if the games in the balance. With Gabby fit he has to start so maybe a case of 4-5-1 away from home again. Predicting 2 wins this week ( Nothing if optimistic! )
  8. Stoke home record the last while isnt as good as people think it is and they are having serious difficulties scoring goals these days as well. I can see it been a tight game and could be a case of 0-0. Need to defo play with Nigel in midfield. Spurs managed to win here this season ( dubiously I know) so be a nice one to nick a victory in.
  9. This break for the Internationals will be good for Ireland. He is a good player. It was a mistake playing him so soon after his arrival against Newcastle but expect him to start making a impact in the next few games. It wont work with just him and petrov in CM, so just a matter of findin the right system for him. Maybe push Ashley back on the wing.
  10. By the sounds of it Curbs has had a interview already and fits the criteria outlined so you would imagine he is in with a strong chance at this stage. As for McLeish, he has done a excellent job at Birmingham and turned them into a good side ( Even attracted Helb to them) so would have no problems with him. Imagine it send the Birmingham fans mad as well which is always a bonus !
  11. It not easy to get excited about this match at the moment. 9 goals conceded in the last 2 games and now facing a side that is easily better than both the teams that done that to us. Tranfer deadline closing on Monday...........I hope a manager and a bit of transfer activity can be done by then
  12. Think that not a bad side tonight. Important we win tonight and also get a few players some game time. Glad to see nigel start, after his fallings out with MON now time to establish himself in this side. With all the attack minded players we need a player like him. Prediction : Heskey to shoot out the lights ( literally)
  13. You have got to think from his comments that he will decide after Sunday if he is interested and that he wouldnt think that one game would effect his chances is that he is interested in the role now. When he first took over he claimed to have no interest. Sounds odd that he would come out and make a statement like that if he thought a new manager was coming in and one before Sunday. He surely in the no at whats going on in the club at the moment. With the transfer deadline closing I just hope we have it sorted by the end of the week and give the new man a chance to at least bring in a couple of players. Maybe Randy doesnt want him in before then and profit the 18 million from the milner deal ?
  14. Don't care if the game ends 0-0 and we go through. Would like to get a run in this competition this year and allow the lights of clark, albrighton and the fonz to get some gametime throughout the season. Goin to be a hard balancing act with regards the squad as the Everton game at the weekend is goin to be a big game. 2 positive results ( eg goin through and beating Everton) and then people can get back to realising all is not as bad as they thought at Villa park !
  15. I hear people saying that the club are goin the right way about appointing a new manager etc and would agree with that point but feel that they will have to get a man in charge in time to bring in a couple of players. Everyone knows we need a forward and there is no point bringing in a Keane etc if the new manager does want him. Goin to be a interesting week or so at villa park
