Popular Post colhint
For a while I've had to spend time in a residential home. One of the things I had to set up was a prime account. Didn't need one when I was married, just used here when I needed anything. First time I ordered it wasn't delivered, but everything indicated it had been. It never dawned on me there were other residents and they wouldn't know who it was for. It was just an item until someone claimed it. I realised when filling in the delivery address I never included my name. So when I changed that I put myself as General Sir Colin Hinton OBE. Just a laugh really. Carried on ordering from Amazon. And everything was hunky dory. One of the regular orders was a monthly booze supply from morrisons. I like the freedom it gives me, don't have to plan, when I think I'll be short for a few beers when the villa are playing I'll order and it's there the next day. It's also useful for any other things I need, mainly spices and sauces for the meals here. Anyway today's order didn't show for my lunchtime delivery. So I contacted customer service. Straight away after giving my order the nice lady said I'm sorry to hear that Sir Colin I think I'll have to pass you to the manager. Ok I thought. It never dawned on me the sir or OBE would mean anything much. Anyway the conversation got wierd. They told me the package was delivered to number six and i told them the hall didn't have a number. So I told them I'd send staff out to check, well obviously we have staff. When they took about 6 or 7 minutes to check, they asked if they were back and i told them it was an estate. And would take a while. So while we're waiting I'm chatting she asked me how big my place is. So I said it has about 30 bedrooms. Bloody hell she said. Then she told me she was a Filipino, so I said truthfully so was one of our cooks. Anyway they couldn't find the package apologised profusely credited my account and £30 for the inconvenience. And said it it does turn up just keep it. Let's hope one of the neighbours are good hearted enough to return £110 worth of booze. They won't know what's inside. Davkaus
Hospitals are great for people watching. A lovely, but not particularly bright woman has moved in to the bed opposite us, her kid is lactose intolerant and it was quite a spectacle trying to get her to understand that he can't have dairy any more. No more milk, but he could have soya, or oat milk. At this point it took a 5 minute detour as she declared that goats don't make milk, and the dietician made the mistake of trying to correct that which only reinforced that the thing she should be trying to buy was goat milk. When she thought that goats couldn't make milk, imagine her surprise when it got back to oats, that was a whole thing. Anyway, she came back with 3 bottles of goat milk.

Xela
Paid £3 for a pint of lager in Brum centre last week. The Railway Inn. Ok, it was like Mos Eisley cantina in there, but beggars can't be choosers.
