In hindsight, should've stayed at Bremen. I actually don't think it's that far-fetched that he's 'gettable' for the likes of us, but then again we've already got Ireland filling our quota of potentially fantastic bell-ends.

oh and that Götze is a huge talent.

Just can't take him seriously with an arse-tearingly funny name like that though.

Well we're without Barrios for the first 5-6 weeks of the season. He was injured at the Copa América, but the Paraguayan national team's doctors said that it wasn't anything serious. Barrios was then given an MRI scan back in Dortmund (where he apparently was willing to return early as he wasn't comfortable with the initial diagnosis) and it turns out that he has an 'abnormal' muscle tear. Klopp's not too happy about it!

Gündogan has been called up to the Germany squad for their friendly against Brazil, which is great news, and could travel to Euro 2012 if he proves himself worthy of a place. He's certainly looked good in pre-season. Schmelzer misses out through injury, but Bender, Hummels and Götze are all in the squad, too:

GERMANY SQUAD

1-Manuel Neuer (FC Bayern Munich), 12-Tim Wiese (SV Werder Bremen)

Midfielders

3-Simon Rolfes (Bayer 04 Leverkusen), 6-Ilkay Gündogan (Borussia Dortmund), 7-Bastian Schweinsteiger (FC Bayern Munich), 8-Mario Götze (Borussia Dortmund), 9-André Schürrle (Bayer 04 Leverkusen), 10-Lukas Podolski (1.FC Cologne), 13-Thomas Müller (FC Bayern Munich), 17-Marco Reus (Borussia Moenchengladbach), 18-Toni Kroos (FC Bayern Munich), 19-Cacau (VfB Stuttgart), 21-Sven Bender (Borussia Dortmund)
