Mr_Dogg
They may have the best team in a few years, but they will not be the biggest club. you cant say that for sure. if they have the best players, the most money, are packing out their stadium, are making new supporters all the time, and are winning things, then theyll be the biggest club history means **** all when it comes to the present :? City will never ever be a bigger club than an AC Milan, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Liverpool, Man United etc. Get real.

Thats a ridiculous thing to say tho. You never know whatll happen. In the early 80s would people have thought chelsea would be a bigger club than forest In fact, are chelsea one of the biggest clubs in the world now? Coz they were nothing as recently as the early 90s City will be one of the biggest clubs in the world. History doesnt come into it. Does it honestly matter now, or is it relevant in any way to the current side and view of villa that we won the european cup in 81? Not really, if we're being totally honest. Things change Blackpool and preston used to be pretty massive

P3te
Chelsea cant touch citys money tho, no club in the world can. If the money stays there city will comfortably be the biggest modern day club, simple as that
AVFC-Prideofbrum
Man City could well be the BEST CLUB and modern day biggest club, but they will never be the biggest club in the world, only a title which can held by successful teams throughout their history. Real Madrid, Barcelona, AC Milan, Manchester United. These are the biggest teams, even if they are not the best teams. I geniunally believe it would take a club like Man City, 50 years of fairly consistant success (not every year, but regular success) to be considered one of the biggest ever clubs. In my mind, Real Madrid are the biggest club in the world and whether they win trophies or not, I doubt that will change for many years to come. CarewsEyebrowDesigner
No matter how hard they'll try Citeh will never be as big as Madrid, Barca, Bayern and (AC) Milan. All those clubs have historical and cultural significance which no club in England can compete with. Money can't buy you history.

steve-67
Surely the size of a club is based on history, capability, finances, fan base, stadium etc? Man City have one out of four, finances. Same as Chelsea. 15 years ago they were also another club in London, just like City are the other club in Manchester, just like Birmingham City are the other club in Birmingham. Legacy yes, size, no I think the history forms part of the clubs stature P3te, that's all I'm arguing. Man City are a good sized club but nothing else. They have money with which to prostitute the game, a decent fan base but haven't won anything for years. Half the problem is, I guess, that people think football started in 1992 with the advent of the Premier Division.
P3te
History is something fans of clubs who havent won anything worth a **** for a long time use to make themselves feel superior Just like us, who've won **** all in a hundred years yet convince ourselves that we're a bigger club than what is currently one of the most attractive clubs in the world for players. Heres the truth bullet: city are bigger than us.
dappadan
We have won 13 honours in the last 100 years mate that is a bit more than **** all. Including the European cup
CarewsEyebrowDesigner
History is something fans of clubs who havent won anything worth a **** for a long time use to make themselves feel superior Nope, history is a reason behind a clubs stature. Barcelona are culturally and historically vital to the Catalan identity, thus they are massive and represent more than just a football club. AC Milan have always been the club of the people as opposed to the wealthier Internazionale, thus they have a massive fan base amongst Italians and generally warm themselves to fans better than Inter do. Citeh will never, ever have the cultural importance than the biggest clubs do, because they will always be the 'other' club in Manchester. That is their history and no amount of money can undo this. Top flight titles: 1 FA Cups: 3 European Cups: 1 We're regular **** behemoths alright arent we Of course, that you even counted 2nd and 3rd tier league wins as well as league cups and probably the twobob and super cup wins only reinforces my point
