Four Men Get Mouth Ulcers after Eating 30 Kg Oranges at Airport to Avoid Paying Extra Baggage Fee

In a bizarre incident, four men paid a heavy price after they resorted to some drastic steps to reduce their extra baggage fee at an airport. In an incident that is now going viral, four men got mouth ulcers after they decided to eat 30 kg of oranges at the airport to avoid paying extra baggage fee.

The incident occurred at an airport in Kunming, Southwest China's Yunnan Province. The four travelers in question ate the oranges inside the airport itself in record 30 minutes.

According to a January 20 report by Global Times, a man surnamed Wang, and his three colleagues bought a box of oranges weighing 30 kilograms worth 50 yuan (Rs 564) during their business trip to Kunming. During their purchase, they did not realise that the airlines would ask them to shell out extra money as shipping charges for the oranges. As they prepared to board the plane back home, the airport said it was going to charge them 10 yuan for each kilogram in shipping fees for the oranges, totaling to 300 yuan (Rs 3384).

Not willing to pay the extra fee, which was much more than the price of their purchase, the four colleagues reached a census to eat the fruits there and then. It took them under 30 minutes to finish the box. "We just stood there and ate the whole thing up. It took about 20-30 minutes," Wang told Global Times.

While it may seem as a daring feat, the four men suffered from mouth ulcers after eating so many citrus fruits in one go. Post this ordeal, they were rightly left feeling like never eating oranges again.

Why was she filming it?

Apparently it's the spot where she regularly films herself doing exercise videos and uploads them, her Facebook page is full of them. Been doing it for 11 months.

There’s been a farmer protest in Delhi for a few months now due to a proposed change in laws which will cripple livelihoods. Some say it’s the largest protest in history. The treatment by police towards protestors has been pretty horrific with all sorts of human rights violations taking place.  Today Rihanna tweeted about it and there’s hope the world might finally take note of what’s going on.

Prickly customer: Sniffer dog on point as Kiwi cactus smuggler pinched

New Zealand authorities have snagged a woman who tried to smuggle hundreds of cactus plants hidden in stockings strapped to her body through airport security.

Auckland woman Wenqing (Wendy) Li, 38, pleaded guilty to breaching strict biosecurity laws when she tried to sneak in the plants from China in March 2019.

She was sentenced to 12 months intensive supervision and 100 hours community work in an Auckland court, the Ministry of Primary Industries said Wednesday.

"She strapped stockings containing 947 succulents and cacti on to her body and attempted to smuggle them into the country," it said in a statement.

"The cacti included eight endangered and threatened species. The plants were worth over NZ$10,000 ($7,200)."

When a sniffer dog began to show interest, she tried to dispose of the plants in the airport toilets, where they were found by enforcement officials.

A guy in Scotland had been arrested and charged after tweeting about the nations here Tom Moore.

Sure, the tweet was in bad taste but there were no profanities.

Where does this end? Literally close to having thought police now.

You know it's ludicrous, when you agree with a Lawrence Fox tweet

Englishman disappeared on snowmobile - again

An Englishman in his 50s disappeared during a snowmobile trip in northern Värmland on Saturday night - for the second time in a few days,  writes Värmlands folkblad .

The man called his wife to tell him that he had gotten problems with his snowmobile and was going home. But he never showed up and the police were alerted.

They had an approximate position on where the man was and a force with police, military and mountain rescuers was mobilized.

A couple of hours after the disappearance, the man appeared after wading 500 meters in waist-deep snow. He was in relatively good condition, the newspaper writes.

It was the second time during the week that the Englishman became a matter for the police. A similar incident occurred on February 9.

- Then he had got stuck with the scooter. Maybe he should think once before he goes out again, says Jens auf der Heide to VF.

Alaska woman attacked by bear while using toilet

A woman in Alaska says she "jumped up and screamed" after she was attacked by a bear while using the toilet.

Shannon Stevens sustained a puncture wound while using a remote outhouse toilet at Chilkat Lake last weekend.

After hearing her scream, Ms Stevens' brother went to see what had caused the injury, only to find a bear's head in the hole of the toilet.

"I got out there and sat down on the toilet and immediately something bit my butt as I sat down," she told the Associated Press news agency.

Ms Stevens told the Anchorage Daily News that she will practice a "look before you sit" policy in the future

You can’t do that this day and age, particularly as, I assume, the vast majority of people with those surnames are not arseholes.

But, equally, there’s a good reason that most public pieces of land now have barriers and gates built to stop certain sections of folk rocking up......
