mtb_wm
Guzan has earned it, but Friedel is by far the better keeper at the moment.
paulanddonya
Honestly can't understand anyone voting for Freidal in this. Don't really need to explain - everyone knows why it should be Guzan
TrentVilla Posted January 3, 2010 Moderator Share Posted January 3, 2010 Pointless thread as Guzan will be starting as he always does in this competition.

TRO
Friedel should just play league matches IMO Guzan is good enough to start for us in the Premier League, so I think it's fair to him that he plays in all cup matches, and so he can gain experience. Friedel in the league to keep his run going.
Phumfeinz
Guzan is going to be our main keeper in a season or two so give him all the games we can in the meantime I say. Also, it's thanks to him we're here so it would be a shitty thing to do to bench him after getting so far.
Olof'sAcorn
Guzan hasn't put a foot wrong so far in the cup, so it would be cruel to boot him out at this stage. Other that that though, I hope MON puts a full strength team out.
kurtsimonw
Guzan, no question. I know Stephen Warnock and Richard Wright weren't very happy about getting their teams far in competitions and then being dropped.
matrim
Guzan, he's gotten us this far and played well so why drop him now.
rjw63
Pretty pointless thread. Guzan has started every cup game and it won't change just because we're in a semi final
barry'sboots
Guzan every time for me. Not a better keeper just yet, although has the potential.
beasley14
Theres not too much between them, and Guzan deserves to keep his place.
briggaman
Guzan all the way for me. He got us to the semi's and he deserves to play in my opinion.
b6bloke
Guzan has earned it. Incidentally, what kind of manager would play a player all the way through a cup competition then drop him for the biggest game, what kind of man does a thing like that? Ask Stephen Warnock. Fergie did when we played them in the final too and look what happened. Got to be Guzan because its his competition not Brads, it was obviously decided he would play these games and its not as though his form has been poor. moose
Guzan's got the nod for me - he's deserved it.
itdoesntmatterwhatthissay
Big Brad for me, nothing against Medium Sized Brad but we are not Arsenal just yet, the important fixtures still need our full attention. No problems with Guzan if he does play, he is showing promise of a consistent performer at the very least.
ThunderPower_14
Guzan is our cup specialist. Friedel isn't young, needs a rest, and nothing Guzan has done suggest he shouldn't continue to be picked.
DalianDaley
Guzan Friedel's getting his share of matches in the league, and with no European competition at the minute, Mini B needs as many starts as possible
AVFC-Prideofbrum
Guzan obviously.
Born-Not-Made
Not sure Guzan is better yet. But he deserves the start for what he's done to get us there. +1 Yup... We'd be out if it weren't for him. 100% Genuine match winning performance against Sunderland.
