Brighton fans stabbed in Rome. Disgusting.

Time these teams who stab opposition fans were thrown out of Europe for an extended period of time. Too many of them have a lot of previous.

If not, as though Roma do not have previous for this type of thing

I’m all for a ban tbh. Hit them in the pockets and make them sort out these ultras.

100%. Then it forces the clubs, police and government to take it seriously.

And uefa.

Am awful lot more people with blood on their hands than just the scum holding the knives, this happens pretty much every time an English team plays in Italy, and the authorities continuing to look the other way does nothing but encourage them.

It's terrible act as usual with Roma fans ( as scummy as Lazio) but UEFA wont act and if honest its hard for them to give a ban as its really out of UEFA jurisdiction.

Also a ban could lead to chaos, example some small heath fans could go around stabbing Ajax fans to get us kicked out

If say a Lazio fan stabbed an opposition fan, UEFA kick that club out of the competition.

Embarrassment for Italy. Government pressure the clubs and local police to make sure it doesn’t happen again. Clubs invest more in policing, and make a major push to tell fans to behave.

Unless they are properly punished nothing will change. Look at Legia fans taking the absolute piss wherever they go.

If someone gets stabbed in town how can you turn around and punish the local club that happens to be playing that day?

The club can’t police a whole city.

This is true. Do we know it was Roma Ultras that did this? Were they affiliated in any way other than it being in Rome? The Brighton fans were robbed too, could have just been a none associated attack on football tourists. I haven’t read the full story though so could well be wrong.

The article also said it was a mugging and wallets and documents were stolen. It's not the usual way hooligans attack rival fans

Gonna hazard a guess that it wasn’t the Roma team that stabbed them…….

Pretty irrelevant. If Roma were out of Europe for the next 5 years then maybe their diabolical ultra culture would change. Even if it doesn't change the Ultras as least less people are being stabbed for the next few years.

Again they were random thugs. Ultra hooligans don't take passports

Brighton destroyed today

They've not been in form for a while so was always optimistic that they'd miraculously find it for a one off game. Didn't expect them to get a hammering though. That "guaranteed extra place" the media seem convinced we'll get starts looking pretty shaky when it comes down to 2 clubs winning their tournaments (and even us winning ours).

Yes, Liverpool,  Man City and us are favourites, but we could really do with West Ham overturning their loss next week.
