WakefieldVillan Posted September 19, 2023 Posted September 19, 2023 Very difficult line up to predict with Chelsea a few days later and ultimately 4 games in 10 days. I think start strong however and hopefully if we are comfortable, make the changes HT or aroud the hour mark. Martinez Cash Konsa Pau Digne McGinn Tielemans Luiz Zaniolo Diaby Watkins Subs: Moreno for Digne Bailey for Diaby Kamara for Luiz Duran for Watkins Dendoncker for McGinn Going for 1-3 Villa, then re-assess everyone's fitness for Chelsea. 1
Spoony Posted September 19, 2023 Posted September 19, 2023 I think we need to go full strength and tear them apart. Get the rest of the competition scared of us. **** the Chelsea game. We could beat them with our second XI. 1 1

I’d go exactly this but with Moreno in for digne. That’s then basically our first choice eleven but with tielemans in who is a very high quality replacements. I’m torn as to whether to keep Watkins in or swap for Duran who is banging on the door for a game. Ultimately I think better for Watkins to stay in to see if he can get a goal to boost his confidence 1
maqroll Posted September 19, 2023 Posted September 19, 2023 @StefanAVFC Any hooligan element with these? Any political affiliation? And lastly: CONGRATS ON THE NEWBORN!

mattyvilla Posted September 19, 2023 Posted September 19, 2023 obviously they play at a far inferior level than us , looking back at their results i make it 1 defeat in 18 for them , its not going to be easy

If Moreno is fit enough then give him the first 60+ Tielemans needs the minutes, and will have a point to prove. Duran will be chomping at the bit, and hopefully this inspires Ollie. I think it will be the League Cup when we utilise the squad more. 1

Khizzy Posted September 19, 2023 Posted September 19, 2023 Start with our strongest team but maybe start Tielemans for Luiz or Kamara, hopefully score a few early goals, put the game to bed and then rest the big guns for the weekend. Definitely won't be as simple as that.

Keyblade Posted September 20, 2023 Posted September 20, 2023 I'd go like this: Martinez Cash Konsa (Diego if fit) Pau Digne Tielemans Kamara Bailey Zaniolo Duran Watkins Bring on Dendoncker, Moreno, Diego if not fit to start around 60 mins if we're home and dry. Save Luiz, McGinn and Diaby for Chelsea.
Ponky Posted September 20, 2023 Posted September 20, 2023 To me Cash is one of the players we need to be careful of over extending as our only recognised RB. In normal circumstances I'd play Chambers as a purely defensive RB and let Moreno maraud up the left. However, this might be Cash's only chance to play for Villa in his"home" country, so it could be a big game for him.
