I could never put a rival clubs demise ahead of Villa's success. No matter what the circumstances. Ever.

Probably closest in recent times was when we played Blackburn in May 2017 with nothing to play for and they were battling SHA to avoid relegation. Was a topic on here at the time and IIRC the reaction was pretty mixed.

In the end we lost and barely did anything that game although of course many of our away performances under Steve Bruce were like that in those dark days.

That feels like 70 rather than 7 years ago now.

Spurs fans on their forum, almost every single one of them, celebrating our win today as it stops Arsenal in the title race.

Very SHA of them to care more about hating their rivals than they do about their own success. Bizarre behaviour.

My Spurs mate last night was saying he would rather they came 5th and got Europa league as they have a chance of winning that !! 😂😂

Bizzare couldn't they just win it after dropping into it from Champions League

Our result and Palace show that there is no point in predicting fixtures, in this league anyone can beat anyone. Just take it one game at a time until we can’t be caught.

I'm sure Emery will try win all our remaining fixtures

Best league in the world, despite the officials.

It also shows the improbability of winning 5/6 in a row at this stage in the season. We have done enough to secure top 5.

Just a matter of whether we have enough in the tank to hold onto 4th.

Exactly, we just have to try and do better than Spurs each week.

That doesn’t happen from next season

We have a cheating club winning every trophy and winning the league every season. Get rid them and it would be the greatest league. As long as they are here, it's a farce. a total joke.

There is no dropping into Europa from CL from next season. That has thankfully been scrapped now.

100% this, been saying it for weeks now

You don't have to win every game, that's just unrealistic and generates pressure that we won't live up to, all we have to do is get more points than spurs every weekend, that's it, 1 game at a time

We play Bournemouth and Chelsea before spurs next game. Great chance to put pressure on them now

That would take us very close to the 70 point target which I believe to be enough.

lets hope there is still something left in the tank for next Sunday against Bournemouth. It’s another huge game.
