If [insert star player(s) of any PL team] gets injured, suspended, or needs a rest.

Barely any team operates the kind of gold standard backup for what if hypotheticals. You can't buy expensive CF to rotate with Ollie not happening. Ollie was better after Ings left. Most obvious signing we need needs to be multi position player upgrade on Bailey

I get the point you’re making and you’ve made it before in the past but.. I didn’t say it has to be expensive or the “gold standard”… effective cover will do. We are stuck if Ollie gets injured…

We have excellent options and cover in central defence and midfield… not so much in attack or up front…

Ok… but out of linked/rumoured players… I only see Goncalves as capable of fulfilling that role and possibly giving enough of a contribution… maybe there are other/better options… some we haven’t yet seen mentioned anywhere…

That player has got to carry a genuine and fairly reliable goal threat imo…

What? 😆 I don’t play cards 😆

But you’ve just repeated the same point you and another mocked me for saying - trust in Unai.

I expected more of an explanation of your point but oh well…

You just constantly give off the impression that you don’t actually want us to sign any players… you don’t often offer much more than that… no proper opinions, no actual suggestions of which or what kind of players you would like us to sign and how they’d fit in etc.

Carry on…

I do trust in Emery. I do want to sign the right players just not every bollocks link thrown up several times a week. I'm quite happy to be surprised by player signing who I've never heard of. Our transfer business under NSWE has been very tight lipped since they took over yet people still believe the voluminous links then get upset they don't come to fruition and question the clubs ambition, pull, finances. It's ridiculous.

Goncalves doesn't play that role. He's more deep lying playmaker

I do expect Bailey position CF/AM hybrid to be our main target this window

Ok, but you should really be used to this stuff by now and it shouldn’t bother you and much as it appears to. Speculation is part and parcel of the transfer window and some people enjoy it…

In terms of people getting upset or questioning ambition, I don’t think that’s very prevalent here. It’s more of an issue on social media…

Ok, I’m going to leave you in peace now.

I wouldn’t be surprised if we see a major improvement in the likes of Bailey and Buendia (but we need more) tbh…

I’m sure you know why 🤣

Anyway, laters… and UTV.

It's here that I see it. Maybe sometimes people are being facetious or trolling but in most cases I think they are being serious

I think it gets shut down or ridiculed quite often tbf 😆

I’ll leave it there…

All the best.

Personally, I haven’t seen a lot of him tbh. He is highly rated - moreso for his potential imo.

Not so fair or reasonable to focus on stats for younger players (you’re looking at talent and future potential mostly) but he’s 23 now, not 19/20…

Let’s take a look at his goals and assists record:

18/19 (Valencia) - 37 apps, 3 G, 2 A

19/20 (Valencia) - 44 apps, 6 G, 8 A

20/21 (Man City) - 36 apps, 13 G, 3 A

21/22 (City/Barca) - 33 apps, 10 G, 7A

22/23 (Barca) - 45 apps, 7 G, 3 A

I for one would be VERY excited if we picked up FTorres.  Granted, this past season he has not preformed very well (primarily as a sub)-  which is a big reason why Barca want rid.  But honestly, look at the previous 2 seasons of goal contributions (G+A).  69 appearances and 33 G/A.  That is 0.47 G/A per game.  Nearly 1 in 2.  Those are fantastic numbers- especially coming from a young player.  His first season with Citeh he was only 20.

Imagine what wonders King Emery could do with a talent like FTorres?  He would be flying...

Haven’t really been/seen any links to proper strikers, no CFs (not a wide variety of quality/reliable ones it seems, in a traditional sense), or just (prolific) goalscorers… we can’t rely so heavily on Ollie… we need another option in his position and proper competition/cover that can be relied on to score…

The only old link I could think of, in relation, would be Pedro Goncalves but he seems to play in multiple positions… not necessarily up front.

We need clinical finishers, more goals…

I think this is more of a need than a winger but the more quality players the better.

We do need players that can genuinely impact and elevate that first 11 and not just potential who we will need to be extra patient with…

I really do wonder who Unai and Monchi are actually after… maybe some obscure player from South America with massive potential? 😆

No clues 🤷‍♂️

Personally I think Ferran Torres fits this roll can play right wing, number 10, & as a striker he played there at times for Man city, I know its not his specialist position but can play anywhere along the front 3, also think Duran & Archer stays. Think it tough finding finding  s striker these days let alone a back up one & clubs want monster money so bringing in someone that can fill in at times but can play other rolls think Torres is the man we want, time will tell.

I did watch a lot of him and found him underwhelming.  Stats are one thing but know that doesn’t tell everything as El Ghazi proves.

Feels like the Monchi affect is underway. All these random links strikes me as if Spanish clubs are feeding their media to drum up bidding wars.

They've been happening since Emery joined

Are you near the HP factory?

That’s been closed about 15 years now and it still makes me a bit sad that it’s not there! … strange really, I still have HP sauce 🤷🏻‍♂️
