Shown no desire or ambition to come to Europe yet. Weird one. Not for me. The same could be said about Bielsa tho... But I get where you're coming from. And Unless Conte leaves Spurs he’s not going back there. His stint at PSG might show he can’t handle big names, so Real, Barca and Bayern will pass. Newcastle aside, we’re the next club that can pay him a big salary. If he wants to come back to PL, it’s us or nobody. You make a strong case but my money went on Emery last week. Would be delighted with Poch but also vry happy if its Emery.

WHY
Whoever the new manager is he won’t be here long given how highly some of our fans rate our players. He will have us in the top 8 in no time and will be off to a CL club! Edited October 20, 2022 by WHY

You can’t say they got one right when they sacked him last year for poor results. We did well for a period of time with Deano, but we were never overly convincing in our style of play - the Liverpool result was a freak score line. Getting it right would be hiring one coach and keeping the same one until such time that they decide to leave on their own accord. I get what you are saying though, the last appointment was a gamble, and it has ended in disaster. I mean if you're trying to argue that Dean Smith was anything other than a stunningly fantastic appointment what's the point? Took us from the lower echelons of The Championship straight to promotion via the greatest winning streak in the clubs entire lengthy history. Kept us in the PL after promotion via The Playoffs which is virtually unheard of. Then 11th on The PL the following season. Created a massive feelgood factor around the club. There is a big argument he shouldn't have been sacked. They probably should have but only because they had a desire to to take the club higher and felt he'd taken us as far as he could. But his sacking was absolutely no reflection on him being a failure of an appointment. He was a spectacularly great appointment. Slippy was a gamble that failed, and failed badly but it's still their first mistake. If anything they've shown they have nerves of steel and don't sack people prematurely. They stuck with Bruce when many wanted rid and the same with Slippy. Sticking with Bruce still ended up with us getting promoted and I'm convinced we can still have a good season this year. I think they have optimum "give them a chance" v "premature sacking" We're more likely to unearth an Alex Ferguson or an Arteta by holding your nerve and giving time than Doug ever would. Let's see who they get in. They've made one gamble, I've a feeling the next one will be a sure thing. paul514
Thank **** for that! They have finally sacked him. No idea if they are going to make a proper appointment or appoint another muppet now though. It is a shame really as we have a bunch of good players and money to spend so you would have thought that we are a very attractive proposition to the best available managers out there.
