Pelle
Police, for at least they've made some good songs. But is there any other connection between the two apart from "The"? :?

Condimentalist
I thought The Police were pretty good actually, it's just Sting as a solo artist that is appaling. The Clash were probably better though.
El Zen
The Clash were excellent. The Police, meh, not so much.
blandy Posted May 21, 2008 Moderator Share Posted May 21, 2008 That's not a comparison Da do do do da dah dah dah is all I've got to say to you vs Multiple songs of genius When they kick out your front door How you gonna come? With your hands on your head Or on the trigger of your gun When the law break in How you gonna go? Shot down on the pavement Or waiting in death row You can crush us You can bruise us But you'll have to answer to Oh, Guns of Brixton The money feels good And your life you like it well But surely your time will come As in heaven, as in hell You see, he feels like Ivan BORN under the Brixton sun His game is called survivin' At the end of the harder they come You know it means no mercy They caught him with a gun No need for the Black Maria Goodbye to the Brixton sun...&c. Santa_Rosa
The Police were toss, even if Copeland is an excellent drummer. The Clash were brilliant and make me wish I was older that about 3 when they were in their pomp. Can't see why the two should be compared directly though. Just cos they were about at the same sort of time? What next? Dead Kennedys and Abba?

pamparius
the Police at the NIA has to be one of the lamest/snoozefests i've ever been too. took my sister cos she used to love me, she was bored to.
jasthevillan
The Clash for me all day long, although I think Copeland is a great musician, for the intro to 'the Equilizer' alone which is up there with the great TV theme tunes...like Magnum PI!
