  1. I agree it not an ugly shirt but it just lacks a bit of character. Maybe they think they can sell more this way
  2. 2017. 3 years.. Chelsea won't sell cheap even if they have too many players. That's disappointing to hear. I'd imagine he may be willing to move on for guaranteed football but it may not be with us then
  3. Anyone know how long is left on his Chelsea contract? With azpilecuta (sp) seeming to have stepped up a level and Coles future unclear hopefully Bertrand fancies being our first choice next year
  4. That USA one is so boring, I was hoping for something more like their 94 effort
  5. A few months ago it was painful watching him be so unsure of when to overlap and looking lost. Game by game he has got better at the role, fair play to him putting the effort in. Now just to make sure he always closes down the crosser when defending and he could possibly have found a set position.
  6. Short term the Government will be shut out of capital markets, leave the euro and revert to the Cyprus £ - which was stronger than GBP before they joined the euro. The value of Cyprus Pounds would be significantly lower than the current euro (reflecting the country's economic weakness) and imports would be more expensive. The flip side of that is Cyprus instantly becoming the cheapest holiday destination in Europe and if Iceland's experience is anything to go by they would soon be on the road to a real economic recovery. They would control their own currency which would float at a level suitable for the national economy and (big bonus) could also put their worst offending bankers in jail.. Longer term Cyprus has gas reserves to be exploited that will make the island very rich indeed, but for 18 months to 2 years it would be tough. The alternative is permanent dependence on the EU and being drip fed life support from Brussels/Berlin while the people are slowly reduced to penury - I call that the Goldman Sachs Model. The consequences for the EU however would be significant. Although Cyprus is only 0.2% of the EU economy, it would demonstrate that the single currency is reversible. That in turn would hit investor confidence in the survivability of the euro as a currency and the eurozone more broadly. Why? Should Cyprus leave then would the people of Greece, Spain, Portugal and Italy continue to accept the grinding austerity that is destroying their countries, or think "sod this, if Cyprus can do it so can we"? The danger then is that the whole EZ (and with it the EU as currently formed) would begin to unravel. Seen from Brussels the existential danger is a country leaving the euro/EU and making a success of that exit. Thanks for a great reply, I think I know what path i'd prefer as a Cypriot! I'm sure if this was put to the people then they would also chose a short term loss in favour of gaining more control and building their own future I am a supporter of the EU and believe working together benefits everyone, but there is a difference between working together and being together
  7. Sorry if this is a stupid question but I'm missing something here. What is the down side for Cypriots if They default and declare themselves bankrupt? It surely must be better than this awful EU offer?
  8. something competitive but fun always results ina good laugh for our team, weve had darts competitions, footy quiz nights and card games, drink while we do it then head out
  9. Not born a brummie but the work done by Joseph Chamberlin whilst major along with his work improving the local economy and petitioning for more local decision making surely means he deserves a mention http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joseph_Chamberlain
  10. Last night I watched "turn me on god dammit". A Norweigan movie about a sex obsessed 15 year old. weird quirky and funny. worth a watch
  11. Im going to go all billy big bollocks I am Tom creator of the original Bindunne image Former villatalk 5 a side player of the season rarely post.....i just like watching
  12. Budae Jiggae. Its a really spicy Korean stew that comes from the civil war era, while people and Korean soldiers were starving they would hang around US army bases and get whatever scrap meats or food they could and to make it bearable cover it in spice. Bloody delicious, you get ham and beef in here, with bits of pasta and noodles pus random veg. Can ruin your gut sometimes and go straight through you but I love it
  13. not a chance of samba, hes on mega bucks out in russia so there is no way he would come for lower wages. Marin MIGHT be convincied on laon but again wages mean he wouldnt join us for good. Milner is a pipe dream
  14. yeah they have cameras there that show the game and record the highlights, just they cant show it in Spain as the other game is on and I think theres an agreement that sky just show what that channel shows or something
  15. randomly I know why this happens. It comes from a balls up in the spanish tv broadcasting rules. Basically they were arranging schedules to show as many games as possible in Spain but they forgot to factor in the 15 minutes for half time. Sky and ESPN just buy the feed of the spanish channel rather than having their own cameras etc so they end up picking up the broadcast of some games 15 minutes late....ridiculius ......easta muy loco
  16. So Im 25 and had a genuine appreciation for music for id say about 11 of those years, and the album that has been with me is The Jam -Snap Now I know its a greatest hits album but my dad had this and played it all the time when I was young, and as i grew up I had mod mates who loved it and whenever I hear funeral pyre, town called malice, thats entertainment, absolute beginners, Down in the tube station or start I get a crazy adrenaline type rush of memories and emotions. So many moments tied up with this album
  17. I'm just stunned that people don't rate Delaney, far and away the best right back we've had in the premier. Once he got injured we never really replaced him. The man was a rock at the back and could pick passes and crosses week in week out for several seasons. Lowton is coming on nicely and with a bit of luck can replicate or go beyond the great work Delaney did

    Enzo

So any news on his developement? Is there good reserve football for him to play while he learns?
  19. I suggested that at first, then she asked me why I want to go back. Saying I could get my season ticket in the Holte back didnt sway her
  20. I would have to disagree about South Korea being a soccer nation. they watch a fair amount on TV but ONLY the teams with Korean players. Younger lads are getting into soccer by the as a whole its a baseball nation. All you have to do is look at match attendances and TV schedules to see this. There are equal amounts of Park Ji Young fans as there are real soccer fans here. Finding a grass pitch for an amatur to play on is almost impossible, and there is no kind of sunday league here
  21. This has been the most common advice My problem is I suppose i see 'marriage' as a much bigger thing than most people BillyShears, as I've been researching this I've stumbled across some universities that actually offer courses that claim to count as both work experience and your masters while only needing to attend once a week for three years! I imagine people sign up to one of these and wait it to collect the degree and 3 years work experience simultaneously. They even state on their websites 'fulfills US visa requirements' haha
  22. I wacthed 'Jiro dreams of sushi' the other night. A great look at the worlds greatest sushi chef, his dedication is incredible
  23. What makes it so easy for them? Is it simply that at the moment the policy is to bring in programmers over other professions? I've spoke to few organisations that would be willing to hire me if they have openings nearer the time, but is having a sponsor simply not enough?
  24. again thanks for the replies lads. Sureshot, the L1 visa is a bit tricky for me as I work in govt. or non for profit management and to get an over seas posting in this, especially to the US takes a lot of service. How have you found living there? I've adapted fine living in Toronto and South Korea but I do worry about America for some reason, I just hope to find some ex pats! Cheers for all the info levi, much appreciated. I was worried that they'd be looking for photos of a huge ceremony. I wont mention to the Mrs that Klingon ones were allowed, she'll want so sci-fi fairy based thing! From that list, marriage, intern/trainee or student are my only yes answers
  25. so last night the Mrs brought up the idea of marrying again to get round all this visa stuff. It seems the student visa is the easiest option for me but involved going to school and spending all my saving, neither of which I'm really keen on. I'm still going with the hope that I can find an employer before August and sort a job out. Her in doors think that we should just get married in secret, not change her name (apparently women not changing their name pretty common in the US) not tell our folks just get the paper for the visa. This make me feel shitty and i'm not keen, not exactly how I imagined my wedding and im not sure how we'd refer to each other after that. My question is really, how does immigration assess a marriage? We will have been together over two years, lived together for one year, have countless friends that can attest to our relationship etc....how hard will they look at our actual wedding?
