Isn't the fit and proper test only applies to premier league clubs?

No, I believe the Notts County board really struggled to pass it... which would suggest that they must of been some serial criminals because our leagues have some of the worst criminals in the world in... (Chelsea, Arsenal, Birmingham...)

Oh well at least it hasn't been all bad news for them today with them signing an exciting new striker

:D

You're joking? ****, I liked Adam Rooney. That's Caley Thistle's season ****, then. For what it's worth, I think he'll do quite well in the Fizzy Pop league (that horrendous miss above aside). :|

Looks like a man 'assisting' the police doesn't he?

Birmingham City Football Club owner Carson Yeung is appearing in Hong Kong's Eastern Court. He was arrested at his home on the Peak on Wednesday and charged with five counts of money laundering.

The English Championship football club confirmed in a statement last night that Mr Yeung was being questioned by Hong Kong police in relation to criminal investigations. City's acting chairman, Peter Pannu, stressed the inquiries had nothing to do with Birmingham International Holdings - Mr Yeung's Hong Kong-listed vehicle which owns Birmingham City.

The colourful tycoon and former hairstylist took control of the English Midlands club in 2009 after paying over HK$730 million to acquire 94% of its shares.

Birmingham City won the English League Cup in February, ending their 48-year wait for a trophy, but were relegated from the Premier League last month.

As I type..the clubs shares (Birmingham International Holdings Ltd) have been entirely suspended.

Birmingham City owner Carson Yeung has been released on bail after being charged with money laundering by a Hong Kong court.

Yeung has been charged with "dealing with property known or believed to represent proceeds of indictable offences" totalling about HK$721million(£57.5m).

The 51-year-old was subsequently released on bail of HK$7m (£559,000) after the trial was adjourned until August 11.

The businessman's lawyer Daniel Marash told reporters after bail was granted: "All they're saying is that he (Yeung) has got a lot of money, and he hasn't paid a lot of tax.

"I mean there's lots of money in my bank account, not as much as his, but I don't pay taxes because it's not taxable."

Championship side Birmingham had released a statement on Wednesday to state that Yeung was merely helping police with enquiries and that the matter has no connection with the club's parent company or subsidiaries.

In a statement on the club's official website, acting chairman Peter Pannu said: "I have just had a call from the Birmingham International Holdings lawyers informing me of the position in Hong Kong and I have also been informed by them that Carson is assisting with enquiries that have nothing to do with the operation of BHL in Hong Kong and therefore nothing to do with the operation of the club, and relate to other matters.

"People are reminded that in recent years, members of the previous board were placed on bail for a significant amount of time and nothing came of it. I am only using this as an example to calm any fears.

"The law says a person is presumed innocent until proven guilty. Until I find out more information about this matter there is no further comment to be made."

Birmingham's former chief executive Karren Brady and co-owner David Sullivan were arrested in April 2009 as a result of an investigation into the club's transfer activity.

Four months later they were released from bail without charge.

Yep, I think Peter Pan was blaming the tapping up because of evidence posted by our one and only thetrees. Internet Forums, like Wikipedia, are grounds for hard reliable evidence in this day and age it seems.
