Richardson takeover always seemed suspicious to me, first sign is the way they were talking about it all over social media and interacting with their fans, usually with takeovers when they happen is the first you hear of the new owners, when there is a media circus beforehand they more often than not don't go ahead. Was also strange that last week or whenever it was the press conference that he called was in their carpark, and the claims he made saying that he had handed over all the documentation needed by the EFL, has now been denied by the EFL who say they barely have enough documentation to even consider the bid as it stands.

Also other than the initial announcement that they had agreed to sell twenty-one percent of the club, there has been no further announcements from the HKSE, which apparently there should have been, if things are as far a long as Richardson has claimed, or Bassini claimed before him.

They announced their squad numbers yesterday, and the squad looks really weak, they've only got around fifteen senior players, and some of them are players that play the same position, like Ruddy, and Etheridge, and the three strikers Jutkiewicz, Hogan and Deeney, and not sure if they will be able to do much strengthening unless a takeover happens, and even then they would still be limited as apparently close to failing FFP, they would still have to find a way to get their high earners off the books, as it stands the best they can hope for is probably loan deals where the other club agrees to pay majority of the wages,  Eustace will be doing a very good job to get any kind of form out of them.

Deeney must be on stupid wages. Didnt they give him a 3-4 year contract?

Hogans another thats probably on high wages

I think I read that Deeney is on surprisingly low wages as when Watford released him they gave him a very big pay off, so he accepted low wages from small heath.

I think the high earners are players like Etheridge, Harlee Dean, Gardnder, and Hogan, and maybe a few others that they signed and still have from when Redknapp was manager.

For those curious.

I can see it now having been prompted to look for it, at least a sort of echo of a swastika, anyway. I don’t know if I’d have noticed it without it being pointed out.

Unsurprisingly it’s a shit shirt regardless.

FRESH DETAILS EMERGE AS POTENTIAL BIRMINGHAM CITY TAKEOVER ISSUE REVEALED

By Chris Gallagher

The deal that would see Paul Richardson and Maxi Lopez buy Birmingham City has been held up due to the current owners failing to provide sufficient information to the EFL about the ownership structure.

Blues have been on the market for some time now, with former controversial Watford owner Laurence Bassini initially granted time to complete the purchase before it fell through.

Now, businessman and Blues fan Richardson, along with ex-Barcelona player Lopez, had hoped to finalise an agreement.

However, in a slightly concerning update, the Athletic revealed that they have hit a stumbling block in their bid, with the EFL needing further information from the current owners before they can proceed.

Crucially, the update states the potential new owners have done all they can at this stage, whilst they’re also committed to putting more money in to ‘meet the club’s running costs from the start of August’.

Yet, answers need to be provided to the Football League from the current owners, with doubts having been expressed in the past about who actually does own the club.

The verdict

This is not the update that Blues fans wanted and once again it means that there will be a delay when a quick solution was hoped.

Of course, this will also bring questions, including how the EFL could approve the current owners if they now have questions about them.

Ultimately though, it’s encouraging that Richardson and Lopez remain keen and it will be interesting to see how this plays out, but this could be hanging over the club for a while yet as they prepare for the new season starting this weekend.
