The Chelsea model? it’s a good way to make money as their value rises with your success so just sell them on for a profit. FYI for everyone - I read something last night which was news to me. I might be late to the party, but apparently when negotiating a contract with a signing if you over pay the agent they accept less on the wages and the signing on bonus. In my first season as Villa still and hovering around mid-table at around February. I tried to pick up a few of the players recommended in this thread but wasn't able to shift any of the deadwood to put together a transfer pot big enough, managed to get Trincao who is doing alright for me. Also Wesley is strangely doing really well for me, currently on 16 goals and 5 assists. Anyone else started as Villa after the Beta patch? And who did you get rid of at the start (and how did you manage to get rid of them? I know you're all dying to know how my title challenge-cum-4th place battle ended up It all went down to the last day of the season and Solihull Moors, sitting in 4th place, needed to beat 19th placed and already relegated Stoke City in an away game to clinch CL football. The result? What a bunch of **** bottle job rocket polishers Absolutely pissed it away by messing up some pretty easy games in the run-in. All to be covered in screenshot glory. The early form was stunning - genuinely utterly shocking as to how well the side were playing: ...beating Tottenham (won the league) and Wolves (eventually 7th, but always up there) at home and Man Utd (4th, rocket polishers) and Liverpool (6th) away. Of course, completely destroyed by disastrous late season form: Just amazing. Lost at home to West Ham (15th), away to Watford (14th) and could only draw against Southampton (A - 18th), Stoke (A - 19th) and Brighton (H - 17th). **** hell Probable highlight of the season was the "Goal of the Season" contest: And there was also the improvement in Zapata which saw Man City "prepare" a £192m bid which never materialised. Keep asking for more coaches to increase specialisation, and then if you have a weakness, say Technical Attacking, search for a coach with high attributes here. I currently have the highest ratings for all my first team staff doing it this way. I don’t care about the coach reputation only their attributes. On staff search, add filters to search for coaches with Determination, Level Of Discipline and Motivating (maybe Man Management too) as, ideally, at least 15... then tweak down to get coaches appearing. One of my coaches has 18 determination, 19 level of discipline and 20 motivation. Highest coaching stat is 15, but he's still 4.5 star quality. Edit: And I do that purely on Staff Search.
